During its use, this candle smells great and work well fending off mosquitoes

I bought this candle after sitting on our balcony and noticing a ton of mosquitoes. After all, we live in south east Georgia so bugs and mosquitoes are expected. I am currently writing this review sitting on our balcony, using it for the first time. It has certainly eliminated *most* of the mosquitoes from the surrounding area, but not all. I expected this so I am not upset by it. It does a good job for the price. The smell is not too strong, but noticeable. It is not an awful smell in my opinion, but a rather pleasant, calming scent.

I used to love Thermocell, but I think the mosquitos in my area have adapted. This year was particularly bad and several virus made their way to our region because it was warmer way into October.These worked great. Provided extra protection, lasted a long time, and not a heavy chemical smell - - all natural.

I genuinely enjoy the scent of this candle, and had I bought it for that reason I might have rated it a star higher. But as I bought this to keep mosquitoes away, I had to rate it three stars because I'm just not sure it works. It helps a bit, but there are more effective citronella candles on the market for mosquito repellent.

This is the first candle that I’ve bought that actually works. Mosquitoes are so bad in my part of town that they will try to carry you off if you’re not careful! Just kidding - they just bite you EVERYWHERE. Now I can enjoy my backyard without being attacked by a squadron of the tiny bloodsuckers. These candles give off a pleasant scent that effectively repels mosquitoes. Long burn time too. Bottom line - it’s money well spent!BTW I gave these to some friends who have the same mosquito problem. They were skeptical and didn’t think they would work. Guess what? THEY DID. Now they’re customers too!

I live in Northern CA, where we have some mosquitos and bugs at night. I initially set out to buy a citronella candle to keep the bugs at bay during evening dinner outside, but this is far better. Since we started using this we have barely seen any bugs and haven’t been bothered or bitten at all. The aroma of the candle is quite nice and actually adds to the atmosphere outside. The candle lasts a while too. I am very happy with the purchase and will eventually be buying another.

After reading the reviews I was hopeful that this would keep the mosquitoes away while sitting on our porch at night but this did absolutely nothing. It has a strong citronella smell out of the box but it does not keep the bugs away. I have used it for three nights and had it burning on a table right next to my chair and I have mosquitos landing all over me. I live in Indiana where the bugs aren’t that bad. I don’t know how people in the south and overseas are writing reviews saying that this candle keeps bugs away. The only thing this candle is good for is a paperweight. Don’t waste your time and money on this. Absolute junk.
