Not a reliable as a light. Okay to pick up screws.
Garbage light honestly. I bought two both only work interminttently. When work correctly they are bright but the actual components to make contact with batteries are cheap and flawed in design. I have to constantly remove the bulb end and screw back on hoping I can make a decent circuit. Even with new batteries best I can normally get is a faint glow of the LEDs. Adjusting the telescopic portion normally leads to me losing the light again and considering these two components have no electrical connection that shows you how sensitive the battery terminal connections are to bumps/vibrations. Frankly neither of the two lights I bought are functional as a basic flashlight for more than 20 to 30 seconds at a time. The basic telescopic portion of the light seems to work fine in short term. I can't speak to it's durability. The magnets work okay, the base magnet is strong enough to mount the light to a vertical wall in it's collapsed form but as soon as you extend out the head the center of gravity moves and light will fall off. Mounting to horizontal plane had no issues.

Compact, convenient, bright, long-lasting battery
With a full charge, on the bright setting, it lasted 3 hours 50 minutes. The light did not seem to get dimmer towards the end, either. When it was done, it just went out. But it was bright for almost 4 hours. If you use it in the dimmer setting (which is not bad, either) it will certainly last longer. The written instructions that came with it from the manufacturer are wrong. They are click 1 100%, click 2 50%, click 3 spot light, click 4 red light, click 5 red strobe. I only got the first 3 to work. Then I found out click-and-hold for red light, click again for strobe. Once you have the correct instructions, this is a great item. The only issue (minor) is that because the base is oval, when attached to a metal side panel with the magnets, it can only be placed with the oval base in a vertical orientation (pics 1 and 2). To place it horizontally, and thus illuminate sideways, you have to hold it (pic 3), or it will rotate on its own. But the chances of that being a problem are minimal. How often will you need it in that position? Probably not often.

If you work on cars/trucks.....
Working on cars/trucks for over 40 years, sometimes just having a regular flashlight or light source just does shine where you need it. This is especially true since the working area on cars/trucks is become so compressed. The light is the solution! Not only does it have a telescoping head, but it also flex 180* about-face. This light can shine wherever you need it to. I love this light.

Long Lasting
So I mistakenly bought this flashlight thinking it was an Astro brand light. I just said to hell with it and gave it a chance. It was noticeably brighter than the last Astro light that I had and I was pleased. One issue this light has is that the magnetic base comes loose. It never falls off, and it tightens up by screwing it back in. it is somewhat of an annoyance. The only other issue I noticed is that it is VERY cheaply made, it cant really stand any impact (such as dropping). The best part of this light, is the long lasting battery. I recently had to pull the headliner off of a vehicle, and when I re-installed it, I accidentally shut my flashlight up there too, while it was on full power. This was at 3:30 PM. I left work, and came back the next morning at 7AM. I couldn't find my light, and had the realization of what I did... when i pulled down the headliner again, the light was still lit up! Albeit, it wasn't as bright as it was, but still, it was on. I've had better quality, expensive lights that would completely die after a few hours of work.

Read my review before you purchase this
The cord to charge the light was defective. Amazon was fantastic on returning this product. I did want the Astro 40sl like the 3 year old one it was to replace. This one I did charge with a usb cable from my old light. The led was not even as good as the Astro 40SL. I reordered the one I wanted and am very happy with that. So bottom line is get the Astro 40SL you won’t regret it.

A big dissapointment
I originally bought this light one month ago for use in a stick welding class thinking that the magnetic base would allow me to stick it to the booth and the swiveling head would help me light what I was working on no matter how I had to move the fixture. It has mostly good reviews so I thought I'd ignore the few bad ones and take a chance. The magnet in the base is a weak afterthought, unable to support the weight of the light in any position. The hook is secured with too much play in the body of the flashlight to hold steady at all. The light, when it works is very bright, but it does not turn on or stay on consistently. One month later, and exactly one day too late to receive a refund I have tried to plug in the included usb to mini usb charging cable only to find that the mini usb port has broken away from the the opening in the casing likely due to shoddy soldering. If you want a bright flashlight that you use to read by or take out the trash with this is fine. If you need a light that just works to do any kind of work while keeping your hands free this is not it.

Pleased with product to start off
Need portable unit with flexibility of location access.Very pleased with how bright it is and didn't realize there are multiple lights. you have a Bright, medium, then spot light function, and if you hold down the light it will go to a RED light along with flashing.Didn't read in description as well that it's magnetic base so that much easier to put in place. And i like that you aren't limited and can flip the light completely around to the opposite side.

versatile but somewhat glitchy
I really like all the versatility of this flashlight. Especially works great when working on projects like inside your PC.. and you need the flexible shaft to peek around corners. The switch, however, is very glitchy... so I had to modify so that the light stays on. They could have paid more attention to the connection between the batteries and the internal connection tab... the tab bends so easily that the light goes out intermittently. I fixed it by putting a small screw inside to keep the tab from bending. No it works perfectly.
