Shells stay in the elastic very securely, but not so tight that you have to fight the elastic to get the into the loops.

So far I have had good luck with these shell holders. People that have problems with them I think do not take basic precautions you need when working with Velcro and self adhesive backing period to properly install then you have to decrease the surface they stick to and then apply the adhesive fact patch without touching it with your fingers. Then you need to use something small and hard like a fat marker or pen to press down the adhesive evenly to the surface. Once you have the adhesive down you will have no problem with the Velcro tearing off the adhesive from the gun. The loops are perfectly adequate for 20 gauge or 12 gauge shells. One thing to keep in mind is how much weight this product will add to your gun. Seven additional shells is 7 ounces and two of them will make almost a pound of extra weight on your gun. For half the price of other brands, you get twice as many shell holders; that's a deal!As far as I can tell, these are no different from the more expensive versions. The elastic shell loops hold rounds just fine, especially with the brass to the sky. The Velcro is solid (maybe even a little much, but better safe than sorry) and I don't foresee shells falling off or out unless you want them to!The pull straps could be a little longer, but you can feed a keyring or round pull-tab into the straps and have a much better grab point.Overall, these are a good deal. Highly recommend!

I own a name brand brand shell holder that saddles to my safe. We use these for our shotguns in the home. My wife loves the shotgun for home defense as she feels more comfortable with it than a pistol. This is a great product that is as good as the name brand one we own. Same materials used, same size and just a good design and fabrics used. Will order more in the future.

Ordered these shell holders to use on the side of my Remington Tac 13 shotgun and they work perfectly. There come with Velcro so that you can easily attach and remove them from the side of your weapon once the shells have been loaded allowing you to replace the empty one with a fully loaded one much like a magazine on a rifle or pistol. They hold the shell securely they don’t slide up or down without being grabbed and pulled on. If you are looking for a way to quickly replenish/replace your ammo for your shotgun these are an amazing accessory to be able to do so. I would definitely recommend these to others.
