Safe means safe.
These are strong boxes with red keys to unlock them. These boxes are very easy to use and they have an arch insert that seemed perfectly sized for mice if you want to use that, or leave it out of you are baiting rats. They have a small metal rod you can skewer the bait block that comes with them and mount it inside the box on 2 cut outs so the bait can't be dragged out.The lid flips fully open making these easy to clean. So far the mice have taken the bait, literally on the first night of using the bait inside the box. That speaks volumes to me as mice can be skeptical of new traps and avoid them, especially if they have human scent on them, but they didn't avoid these. We have several dogs so safety was of great importance to us and these feelings strong and safe.I bought three, hopefully I won't need more but if I do I will be back for more of these.

Bigger than expected but will do the job
These boxes are well made and come with poison in a separate bag. The boxes are big though, I went for these because they were one of the few that were classed as for rats and not for mice and rats. However I think the pre baited ones for mice and rats would have been big enough for the job.

Rattiest Rat!
I am a VERY SATISFIED AND STRONGLY RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT,I need to caveat this with a complete disclaimer that I AM NOT COMPLAINING NOR SUGGESTING BAD OR MAL PRACTICE.I AM MERELY POINTING OUT (admittedly in a long winded description) A NIGHTMARE SCENARIO THAT HAUNTS ME, AND SEEMS SO EASY TO IRRADICATE. Or at least consider approaches in which this could not occur. This pack of three is well made and presented. Being of a H&S background, I know I approach matters like these boxes, and moreover its bait, with reserved probably excessive caution. I always make a point of reading all words before engaging in the process concerned. I believe that if you do not read the instructions and guidance for such a product before using, you COULD not WOULD put yourself or others, including pets at risk. This does not mean that the retailer has made a mistake, or is negligent, it is merely, that in my opinion, I believe that this product and the way it was delivered, “contains operational requirements that must be fully understood before engaging in, or opening of, any item relevant before installation “. By so suggesting, I am inferring that a great product can be delivered and installed in a much greater and customer aware environment.I have no idea what the uk rules are for poison in transit, or, for that matter, if this cocktail is classed as a poison, but, I was however surprised, that it was delivered in a plain, cardboard box with no exterior warning signage about its contents, anywhere. There is, like explosives in transit, an argument to have, concerning raising unnecessary awareness to products in safe transit. But, that really is for product mostly only accessible to military or government linked organisations.Whilst mine was intact and no cause for concern, transitory damage to products is always possible, I always consider the “what if” scenarios. If this box was damaged in transit, in the manner in which it was delivered to me,what could happen? The bagged bait would fall out of the box but still contained in its thick “retail” type packaging.Could the bagged bait scatter? Yes. If the bag was subject to an impact capable of inducing pressure of great enough force causing bursting of a sealed plastic bag. (Stood on) (The bait is sealed in a thick plastic bag equivalent in size of a bag of boiled sweets or large packet of crisps) - Likelihood medium.Outcomes, ingested by persons unknown, risk small,Reactions negative due to ingredient designed to taste humanly disgusting. To domestic pets or livestock however, it is not clear by written content that the same taste reaction would occur, but vetinarian advice is written and must be sought.I have a medium to large sized dog that eats first and rejects last. I am not convinced she would reject the bait due to its designed bitter taste. The odour of the bait I admit I found to be surprisingly pleasant! Something I wasn’t expecting. The bait is not an appetising shape or colour and certainly presents that it is NOT for human consumption. Although, I was surprised that none of the package nor the bait itself contained embossing in Braille as do bottles of methylated spirits, turpentine etc., I believe the bags of and bait could easily accommodate this, as too the bait boxes. However, if it is not a requirement, then why should they? but sometimes it’s just good practice to go the extra mile. The bait bags are not in a conspicuous colour. Eg, dayglo to “stand out” and look wrong in a domestic environment. Especially if you use reading spectacles. The following is, a non-proven domestic delivery scenario, but again, possible and based solely on how my purchase was presented to me:“The box, once delivered, but not externally marked as to its contents, is put to one side and forgotten about with other such online deliveries. None are labelled as to their contents. On returning home from school, a child eagerly awaiting a delivery of their own, asks of they can open the boxes to see whether their item is one of them. Not knowing about the delivery contents and forgetting that their partner had ordered some rat bait kits, happily permits the child to opening of everything. On realising the contents of one of the deliveries is not theirs, the child leaves the contents of the now ripped open box half in and half out. One of the bait bags, not immediately identifiable as such, and certainly not if reading glasses or equivalent are required, slowly moves out of balance and falls from the table to the floor. On returning home from food shopping, using recycled plastic bags, one of them decides to expire just as they enter the house. Contents liberally scatter everywhere, but thankfully it was only the cans, crisps and sweets bag, nothing damaged. Scooping up everything that was found to have fallen out, including a bag that had slightly travelled further than the rest, all the crisp bags are put where they normally are in the cupboard drawer. Later that evening, someone in the family fancies a snack and picks out a heavier than usual packet of crisps...”Okay, this is all hypothetical, and probably over dramatised, but all I am saying is that that scenario COULD have happened with the contents of my actual delivery in a busy hypothetical family setting. But, with a few tweaks by the manufacturers, and possibly the retailers too, such a nightmare scenario can be eradicated from the “COULD” pile to the “NEVER”. They don’t have to do it, they haven’t, as far as I am aware, broken any regulations, laws etc., It’s just that when it comes to poisons or the equivalent, in a domestic environment, I get all prickly, and overly protective. My suggestions:Consider:Using a suitable HAZMat or COSHH labelling on exterior of transitory delivery box including emergency contact details.Further sealing each already pre-sealed bait bag in a further conspicuously labelled and aerated / perforated nylon type bag that, in the event of crushing in transit, would capture loose bait from pressure burst bait bags and prevent accidental distribution in transit.Perhaps a further, larger nylon type bag holds all bait contents as described above as well, so a fail-safe catch all?Wherever cautionary notices are displayed, Braille approved and text pictograms suitable for partially sighted persons are considered and used where reasonably practicable.Dayglo fluorescent or equivalent conspicuous colours are used wherever bait or equivalent hazards are in transit or unused storage and would be immediately identifiable as not a domestic product or consumable item. In other words, stick out like a sore thumb!Place a greater more readily internationally identifiable pictogram on the bait box in largest size possible.Provide complimentary disposable gloves with each bait bag purchased, further labelled dispose after use, do not reuse etc.Request manufacturer of bait to consider pre-drilling of loading hole for placement as required on provided metal kebab stickRequest Bait box manufacturer to consider, as optional extra, external fixable shrouds or tunnels to prevent domestic animal intrusion from oral (licking) or claw scratching at loose bait within the housing unit. If purchased by a household in domestic environment, in a modern premise, bits of bricks, stones, metal etc., are not readily available nor necessarily considered, as part of the placement of the bait boxes for rodent eradication, and without such, the apertures are wide enough for such ingress from animals not intended to be dosed, and children exploring with digital interference.Provide greater advice as how to, and where to, fix the bait box, and what to fix it with. | suggest optional kit purchase.Provide domestic signs, window stickers etc. To place on windows or doors adjacent to where boxes are laid, including type and antidote procedures/ Show this to emergency services etc.Warn customer that flakes and crumbs of bait block will fall in preparation and must be carefully and safely disposed of, as too any bait bags or packaging. There is nothing to suggest this has happened , ever. I just like to advise where oversights I see that can be easily rectified for the preservation of life or injury prevention, would make the world of a difference. This kit is a superb price, Made in UK, and of high integrity, it just needs a bit of a PR kit when it comes to its use in a domestic not industrial or commercial environment.Buy with confidence and call them too. I unreservedly reccomend this product.

Good product
Had to purchase rodent boxes as had an issue with rats and mice in our vehicle compound. Very easy to put the blocks in, mice especially like the flavour of the block. Good product overall.
