Cute addition for my kitchen
Design and AppearanceThe Fretta Nifty Cold Press Juicer stands out with its vibrant red color, giving it a sleek and modern appearance that would complement any kitchen decor. The juicer is well-designed, with a sturdy build and high-quality materials that suggest durability. The 4.25-inch wide feed chute is a significant feature, allowing whole fruits and vegetables to be processed without the need for extensive pre-cutting, which saves time and effort. The overall design is compact enough to fit comfortably on most kitchen countertops without taking up too much space.Functionality and PerformanceThis slow masticating juicer operates efficiently, using a cold press method that extracts juice by slowly crushing fruits and vegetables. This method is known for preserving more nutrients and enzymes compared to traditional centrifugal juicers, resulting in healthier, more flavorful juice. The self-feeding design is a convenient feature, as it allows for continuous juicing without the need to push down on ingredients manually. The juicer delivers a high juice yield, which means you get more juice out of your produce, reducing waste. It handles a wide range of fruits and vegetables with ease, from hard items like carrots and beets to softer produce like leafy greens and citrus fruits. The juicer works relatively quietly, which is a nice bonus for those who want to make juice without disturbing others in the household.Ease of UseOne of the standout features of the Fretta Nifty Cold Press Juicer is its user-friendly design. The wide feed chute significantly reduces the need for cutting and prepping ingredients, making the juicing process quicker and more convenient. The machine assembles and disassembles easily, which is crucial for quick cleanup. The parts are dishwasher safe, making maintenance a breeze, though hand washing is recommended to ensure longevity. The juicer also comes with a reverse function, which helps prevent clogging and makes it easier to clean.Juice QualityThe juice produced by this masticating juicer is of high quality, with minimal foam and a smooth consistency. The slow juicing process minimizes oxidation, which means the juice stays fresh longer and retains more of its nutrients. This is particularly beneficial for those who like to make larger batches of juice to store and consume over a couple of days. The high juice yield is another positive aspect, as it maximizes the amount of juice you get from your produce, making it more cost-effective in the long run.Durability and Build QualityThe Fretta Nifty juicer is built to last, with a robust construction that feels solid and reliable. The materials used are BPA-free, which is important for those concerned about the safety of their kitchen appliances. The auger, which is the part responsible for crushing the produce, is made from durable material that can handle a variety of ingredients without wearing down quickly. The motor is powerful yet runs quietly, which is a sign of a well-engineered appliance.Price and ValueThe Fretta Nifty Cold Press Juicer is competitively priced, offering good value for the features and performance it provides. Considering the high juice yield, ease of use, and quality of juice produced, this juicer is a worthwhile investment for anyone serious about incorporating fresh, nutritious juice into their daily routine. The durable construction and user-friendly design further enhance its value, making it a smart choice for both beginners and experienced juicers.Overall ImpressionOverall, the Fretta Nifty Cold Press Juicer is an excellent option for those looking to invest in a high-quality masticating juicer. Its wide feed chute, self-feeding design, and ease of cleaning make it a practical choice for daily use. The machine delivers on its promise of high juice yield and quality, all while being easy to operate and maintain. Whether you're juicing for health reasons or just enjoy fresh juice, this juicer is a great addition to any kitchen.

Powerhouse that can go toe-to-toe with known brands
The Fretta Nifty Cold Press Juicer turned out to be an amazing machine! I saw this and could see its DNA to a bigger name brand, up to and including its cute, colorful box. The Fretta is billed as a 1L cold-press juicer. It is easy to assemble but the locking mechanism of the lid for the chute can take a second to work. It is designed if the lid is open, the chute can be assembled. If it is closed, then it is safe to power on the machine. Might take a second to get used to that. It's a pretty machine, with the chute's black-on-black vertical striations making it feel a little retro. This cold press juicer will take fairly large pieces that don't need to be peeled or cored and auger them to squeeze the most juice out. I used 1 cosmic apple, 1 pear/apple, and 2 kiwis for this. The extracted pulp is quite dry (granted, those were drier ingredients) and good for composting. By comparison, the larger name brand has visual relation of style and simplicity of set up, though the brand has more parts. It's a larger chute (about 8oz more) and the locking mechanism for the chute is separate from the lid access and it has an additional sweeper arm. I used the same number and size of fruits and got very similar results! I have a picture of the pulp comparisons to show that both machines performed really well with their juice extraction. Where the Fretta shone is in the disassembly and clean up. It had fewer pieces and so cleaned easily. The brand had more parts overall so is a bit more complicated, though I'd say neither are so bad to make you give up juicing. In the end, the Fretta held its own. 10/10 would have gotten this as the size is more friendly to daily juicing (the brand name is pretty huge) and it so much more simple for clean up. If you are looking into juicing, it's very tempting to look at pure yield as the leading indicator, but also pay attention to clean up. You'll fall out of habits faster if there is something making it hard to stick, such as a complicated clean up process. The Fretta is friendly to both aspects - good yield and easy clean up so you'll stay in the habit. To be betta, get the Fretta.

Takes its Time, Does it Right
This slow-juicing machine is definitely an upgrade to the one I had years ago. Fruits and veggies shot through that one like a woodchipper but this one produces a far greater yield. I've thrown a varied selection through it and it's had no difficulty producing. The directions did offer some suggestions as far as combining high-yield food vs low producing ones. It does a take a bit of time for everything to process but I was impressed with how well it separated the pulp from the juice. Pulp exited the machine quickly and cleanly. I found the juice to be consistently strained, though not too smooth. Even when I combined several things at once, like apples, kale, pineapple, papaya, kiwi, ginger and mango, I could taste the distinction of the different foods. It'll take some time before I can figure how much juice does a certain quantity of a specific food produce, but I can't say I've ever felt disappointed by the output. I do spend a little time cutting down the food before adding. Iโm sure Iโll get a quicker routine down but timewise itโs sorta like prepping a meal. It does come with a rod with soft rubber tip to help scrape food off the sides to prevent much from being wasted in the process but nothing to get torn up in the process. Cleaning is what it is. It breaks apart into several pieces but most can practically be cleaned just by putting them under running water. They do supply a brush, which is quite helpful. While I found the straining mesh to be the most time consuming item to clean, that seemed to never get clean, on my last juicer, the straining portion is relatively small on this so that wasn't an issue. There is one small chamber that puts up a fuss to clean because of the angles involved but it's not enough to be a deterrent to purchase. All the pieces seem sturdy and well made so I believe this machine should stand up to heavy use over a long time.
