Great for EDC
So I have sung the praises in another review of the Miguron ; however, this is also my favorite knife, but for other reasons starting with the handle. I purchased the black micarta version, which I really like. I like micarta and theirs has a good balance of grippiness without feeling rough. The pocket clip is OK. It’s not my favorite, but it works well enough. It clips well and does not slide around. It doesn’t grab fabric too badly. I can easily wear these in a pair of gym shorts and not have any problems. I like that the blade on this is 154 CM, which is a very good semi-high-end steel. I love the blade style of this. It’s a very good utilitarian blade. I actually like using this at work, just the nature of what I do, having to cut products off of rollers. This works very well. The ergonomics on this knife are absolutely spectacular with the slightly up, raised handle. It allows your hand to just fit right up and choke up is a breeze. There’s plenty of jimping along the spine in several locations, which allows you to use several different grips without worrying about slipping off. Now, to be honest, I purchased this mostly because I have bulldogs. I like bulldogs. I purchased the Sheepdog. I really like that, but overall, I actually really do like this knife. It’s a great utility knife, great for everyday tasks that most people are going to perform that may not be super steel, but it’ll hold an edge long enough. It’s not terribly bad to sharpen this. The crossbar lock or whatever Kizer call it is one of my favorites. The tension on this one is set perfectly at least for me. Deployment is very easy with the thumb studs, and it closes very smoothly. This is probably one of the best crossbar lock knives that I’ve purchased. I’m thinking about purchasing another one just in case this model disappears. If they made one with S45, Magnacut cut or M3 90 as a higher-end version, I would definitely buy it. This is a fantastic everyday carry knife. Go get one.

Great blade for daily use.
This is the format Sheepsfoot style blad I have ever owned despite carrying daily for more than 40 years. I love it. This blade is amazing. It holds an edge well and comes with great fit and finish. Perfect for boxes, packages, rope, string, fingernails, and food. It is a EDC blade without many frills. The axis lock is great and is much safer and more secure than other types of locking mechanisms. The black powder coat of the blade showes even small amounts of wear and I wish it came in stone wash. The aluminum handle provides great grip and will not slip under any circumstances. I could stab with it if my life was on the line but otherwise it is a cutter and not a stabbed blade. I have had and used mine daily for 3 months at this point. I recommend it highly.

Awesome knife
Love this knife. The micarta really looks like faded grey denim and the blade is super sharp. Also love the bar lock as well. Excellent build quality and usability

A bulldog of a knife!
Sharp, well made with a smooth action. I also like the thick wide blade, it fits my hands well. It is a very nice knife and I am happy with it.

Not as good as the uncoated version
I bought the original bulldog in micarta and satin and I have to say, the action on that variant was much better. This is still a decent knife. It's very good looking and has amazing ergos. Mine came plenty sharp and the fit and finish are excellent as per usual with Kizer knifes. The thumb studs are larger than the previous models which will be better for some people. There cross bar lock is adjustable and easy to operate. The opening and closing action is just a little sluggish, hopefully it breaks in. Unless you are set on the black coated blade, by the other versions.

Well Designed, strong mid range EDC.
Very strong first impressions. The handle length and shape feel immediately natural in the hand, with no hot spots. The aluminum scales have light texturing that provides good grip without being abrasive or hard on pockets. The sheepsfoot blade profile is practical and controlled. Multiple grip/indexing grooves along the spine make it easy to find secure hand positions, including a small control area near the tip that’s useful for fine work. The clutch lock is better than expected. It’s easy to operate one-handed, and when disengaged with thumb and index finger, your hand naturally stays out of the blade path while closing. Smooth, intuitive, and secure. Out of the box sharpness is excellent — genuinely razor sharp, not just passable factory sharp. Fit and finish look clean and consistent. It also includes spare springs and screws, which is a nice touch and suggests the knife is designed to be maintained long-term. Overall, this feels like a practical, well-thought-out EDC knife focused on usability and safety rather than gimmicks. Very satisfied so far.

This Knife is Insanely Good
This is my favorite pocket knife of all time. Even putting it up against some of my favorite Spydercos like the Para 3, Shaman, and Manix 2, I just find myself reaching for this one every time. The ergos are insanely good. The handle just disappears in your hand, and is equally comfortable in both hammer and reverse grip. The action and detent out of the box are absolutely flawless - far better than one would expect from a knife at this price point. The blade comes with a good edge and is very slicey. The few things I'd change about this knife in a perfect world: - I'd like to see a version with a slightly longer blade, maybe an extra .25"-.35" - A top liner button lock as it was originally prototyped by the knife's designer - A more premium blade steel - Slightly more aggressive jimping I'd happily pay double the price or more for those features. I really hope Kizer continues to iterate on this design because it's a winner. If you're on the fence about it, you should 100% buy one.
