This "secret" cure for H. Pylori ??!!!!!!!
Well, nature never ceases to amaze me, and in recent years I have come to realise that prescribed medicines only reflect what is already present in the beautiful, natural garden around us!Mastic Gum is a natural product made from the sap of a single tree which grows on the Greek Island of ChIos in the Aegean Sea.Ulcers in the stomach can be really a challenge, as you feel really sick, have acid reflex constantly and well, let's face it - it literally drags you down even if you are a fighter. H. Pylori is often the hidden cause to stomach problems, and once you have had it once, it's treatment and eradication is tougher, if you fall foul of it again.I had biopsies taken during an endoscopy to investigate an ulcer, and it was found that I had this bacteria in my gut. Roll on operation "H. Pylori Eradication". The doctor advised it would be trial and error, as to how may courses of antibiotics would be needed to kill this bacteria, as it becomes resistant the more times you contract this one.As usual when looking for a test kit for testing for H .Pylori, I always check what others are shopping for, and thought what is this mastic gum which keeps cropping up. After investigating I found this natural product from Greece originally, have a wealth of health benefits, which I am going to list a few of those reported online (and please note: I cannot confirm the validation of all of these claims), however research is available online for some of the health benefits which include : -* Acts as an antibiotic to kill H. pylori bacteria * Acid reflux treatment * Eases heartburn * Treats ulcers * Indigestion * bad breath * Promotes liver health * Lowers LDL cholesterol * Improves dental health and removes plaque * Improves digestion * Improves blood circulation * Helps to reduce swelling with Crohn's Disease * Eases symptoms of Inflammatory Bowel Disease *WELL, I was impressed by all these claims and decided to buy this product in its natural form which is a small crystal like jagged ampoule. It is recommended that you only take 1 to 2 grammes per day, and it should be avoided if you have pollen sensitivity. That said, it was easy to chew and not dissimilar to chewing gum with a bland taste. It becomes stickier on chewing and may lodge on your teeth (which is not a bad thing given its effect on plaque!)Personally, I did feel it impacting in my mouth as it felt refreshed after chewing. Although, I did take double antibiotics, and cannot be absolutely sure this worked.....it is my opinion that I did feel better for taking this gum as I could feel the toxins from the H. Pylori passing out of my body. Roll on a few weeks after treating the H. Pylori with antibiotics and mastic gum, and the at-home test has come back absolutely clear! I do feel the Mastic Gum has contributed as the doctor was adamant that this one course of double antibiotics was UNLIKELY to remove the h. pylori. To be honest I did not relish the thought of a second and third dosage of increasingly stronger antibiotics, so I tried the mastic gum in conjunction with the conventional treatment as my ulcer was very serious.I think that although this is pricey as the bag is tiny and the cost is quite steep, I would rather pay for something that works rather than waste time on cheaper products that do nothing. This has so many potential benefits and uses, it is one that I will be keeping in reserve at home!!!

Really aromatic
I bought the mastiha to make a tsoureki for Greek Easter. It smells amazing when you open the pack and it inflused the wonderful aroma to the bread. Great quality product.

New Food for Thought.
Found the texture unusual, just like "chewing" gum and probably much better for your teeth!! As a first time user it's not too bad at all. A little goes a long way, but that was of course playing save with the baking. I have some left, so look forward to it.
