Very disappointed in the quality and customer service
Smith Trace Men’s HelmetSo, I feel it fair to start off this review with the fact that I found this helmet comfortable to wear. My problem with this helmet/Smith as a company are the two main issues. First, I was going for a morning ride a few weeks ago. I placed the helmet on my head and the plastic piece/part of the Mipps system (see pictures) just snapped. The helmet has never been in a wreck or dropped/damaged in any way. I literally was just placing the helmet on my head when the plastic piece just snapped. The ease of the braking of this part really has me questioning the quality/safety of this helmet. My second issue is not with the helmet but with Smith’s customer service. I contacted them through their warranty website page. I submitted a claim along with the pictures seen here. I received no response after several days. I then messaged them through Instagram… No response. I then sent them a message through their regular contact page…. You guessed it…No response. Finally, I sent one more message through the warranty page using a different email thinking that was the issue… No response. I am not trying to get anything free out of Smith and I would have been more than happy to pay for the replacement part if needed. All I wanted was at least one response from the 4 different messages I sent. This along with the ease in which the plastic part broke I feel warrants this review.
