Great shoes!!
I bought these two weeks before my first obstacle course race. My friend recommended the brand and I was iffy at first on the pricing and his glowing praise thinking it was more hype for the brand than that actual quality of the shoe: I was wrong! These took very little time to break in and once broken in they felt great! I did not experience any pain or blisters during the breaking in process or the race. The bottom grips of the shoe were amazing for the mud and water portions of my race, as well as climbing the different obstacles (like a wall!).The color was perfect to make feel a little cute while I was sweating and covered in mud.The only con others have also mentioned is that the shoe laces are small. However, I did not change them for my race and they worked just fine.I definitely recommend and will be buying them again!!

Long lasting, supportive shoe good for narrow feet
I purchased my first pair of Roclite 290s after an extensive search for the best trail runners for narrow feet, and these showed up on a few different lists. Which is weird, since they're listed as "Wide" sizing through Amazon; I'm assuming this just has to do with the way they're posted, and nothing whatsoever to do with their actual sizing. My feet are very narrow and these fit like a glove (but for feet). Anyways, my original pair lasted 2 years (and, according to fitbit, about 500miles) so for the price they're definitely worth the buy. I just replaced them and while I definitely got the standard heel blister that comes with breaking in new shoes, these fit just as well as the old ones did and I'm assuming will last just as long. Plus, they match my headphones. Unde"feet"able argument for perfect pair of shoes.

Tight toe box, overall snug fit
My shoe size is womens 10.5/11 XW. My toes are extra wide but the rest of my foot is standard width. I ordered Roclite women's sz 11 wide, hoping that they had a roomy toe box. Nowhere on the shoes or box that I received did it indicate wide width. Looking into it, I'm not sure that these shoes are even available in a wide width ¯\_(ツ)_/¯These shoes have a very pillowy snug fit all around. The toe box was very narrow (assuming they were wide width). Because of the cushy fit, I would definitely need to size up- but that won't solve the tight toe box. Overall these are not the right shoe if one is looking for a natural fit for a wide toe splay.

Cute, but not made wide enough.
This shoe is really cute. But not at all for wide feet. I ordered the 7.5 wide. By measurement I should be between 7 Wide and 7.5 Wide. Length was fine, but I felt like my foot was hanging over the sides of the sole in the middle and ball of my foot. It was. I matched them up to my 7.5 Wide New Balance and they are at least 1/4 inch more narrow. I wanted to love these. They're adorable, but not for wide feet... even in the "wide".

Defective AND one size too small
I recently purchased a pair of Inov-08 shoes through an Amazon seller (Sports by Sager Inc). They were shoes in new condition and looked excellent out of the box. However, after wearing them for just three short hikes in my area, the front of the right shoe began to tear away from the mesh. The item appears to be defective and I would like to discuss my options for a product replacement with you.Additionally, I had to buy three pairs of shoes until I found a suitable size - these appear to be a full size too small. I've never worn anything except for a size seven, but after my third try at purchasing, I wound up with these size eights. As for comfort and trail grip, I absolutely love these shoes and was so excited to find the perfect trail hikers. I'd love to be able to continue buying Inov-08 products, however, this experience has dampened my impression of the brand.I'm waiting to hear back from Inov-08 support on this issue and will update with my experience after the company responds.

BEST SHOE EVER FOR TERRAIN!
Bought these last minute to complete my first Spartan race. It was pouring rain and the mud was so thick, it was pulling shoes right off of people's feet. The race was conducted over 5 miles in a reclaimed strip mine with no safety measures.in place. Good traction was important for personal safety. I saw hundreds of people slip and fall due to the slick and muddy terrain. I did not slip, I did not fall. I was asked many, many times, by both team mates as well as strangers, what shoes I had on. The shoe, although shocking pink, was completely invisible under the layers of caked mud. I finished the race (yaaay!), drove home and showered. Later that evening I hosed the shoes off in the yard and honestly they look nearly brand new again! I would highly recommend this shoe for terrain, traction, comfort and durability. You won't regret this purchase!!!

The 290 has a little wider toe. . .
The extra hole at top for the "runners ankle lock", is a little low, so the "lock" cuts across my ankle at a weird spot, but i can get used to it. I also ordered the 285 and 305, both in size 11, but the toe in those models are a little more narrow than the 290, so they don't fit. keep that in mind when ordering your size. the tread is spectacular for beginner and intermediate trails. i don't run advanced, so cant guide you there. they breath nicely. I've always been a "Brooks" girl, and will probably continue to buy Brooks for road running.

Fast
I bought these for my 10 year old Daughter to run Spartan races in and she said they are much faster than her old shoes! I wear Inov-8 shoes, almost exclusively and you do need to check the fit charts. They run narrow in most models. These are the same.
