Totoro My Neighbor Soot (Kurosuke) w/Suction Cup

This has got to be one of my favorite little sporadic purchases lately. First of all, my two year old and I LOVE Miyazaki movies. Totoro is his favorite. We watch that movie alllll the time. I ordered this to hang on my rear view mirror and I am in love! It brings me such tiny joy every day so see it’s cute little soot sprite body swinging around in the car. I think it’s the eyes - they are absolutely adorable.This is well made & I get a lot of compliments on the little guy even from people who aren’t familiar with the movies. I will likely be ordering another one for my window at work.

Well if you are familiar with this character (kudos!) he/she/it is the real deal. No he does not scurry, disappear or make noise. But he looks mighty fine hanging from my rear view mirror. Just for kids? Oh I hope not. I am 74 and enjoy the susuwatari traveling in my car with me! A little bit of magic

I like these little guys. I'm not a huge fan of the movie but my gf is and I got these for her. One thing I will say, these little dust balls make the jump from 2D to 3D exceptionally well (examples of odd 2D to 3D transitions, see The Simpsons and South Park). The fluffy material is pitch black and they really do look like what I would imagine soot sprites look like in person. Also the eyes are perfect. If you like Totoro or Spirited Away, you can't not get these guys, at least three. I didn't see any hands on these as some people are saying is the big difference between the two movies. There are product tags that seem like they can be snipped off easily enough but my gf won't let me near her new toys. One weird thing is they arrived in California from Japan quickly and there's no shipment tracking. On the Amazon app, it says they are still in transit but I have them already.

I am a huge Miyazaki fan so when my bf surprised me with this adorable soot sprite, I was instantly in obsessed. I have it hanging on my kitchen window and it is absolutely perfect! The suction cup is strong has never fallen off the window. Also, it's about the size of a tennis ball, which makes it the ideal little Miyazaki decor. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!

First of all the photo is not that accurate - the soot sprite has little felt arms and legs, and its all squished up in the packaging, so you might have to find ways to flatten the arms and legs. I wish they would've made it with more rigid material rather than strips of felt, though - maybe pipe cleaner or rubber or soft plastic? I am contemplating on cutting the arms and legs off since it looks like these brought down the cuteness factor slightly a notch.Another thing is that the suction just sucks. And I mean "sucks" in a bad way. It didn't hold up on the freezing car windows, even if we tried moistening the suction cup first then sticking it. I had to eventually look for replacement suction cups for this.The product is cute, with minor flaws in it, and I can't say much on its usability, since it's mainly for display (or perhaps a cat toy, if you're willing to throw it to the kitties despite the not-so-cheap price). I am OK with it, but I can't avoid having a little disappointment with the product.

And so I have.As much as I would like to leave my review just like that I figure you guys/gals would like a little more discriptive phrases other than BUY IT.Suction cup is about the size of a 50¢ peice.Soot ball is about the size of a baseball on the smallish side.Soot ball is fluffy, well constructed, & squeezable.By "well constructed" I mean the eyes aren't glued on or anything like that.There is 2 strings like the picture so it hangs/ balances well.It does have a tendency to "wind up" like a pitcher at the mound though, but this could be because I'm only rolling down 1 of my car windows.BUY IT.

The kurosuke(soot) is soooo adorable, and in good quality too.I chose the seller who shipped from Japan directly, and I got it in 7 days. Simply amazing!FYI, mine doesn't have any legs, and the seller is SAMANDO.

I bought Soot for my niece who loves anime and she especially loves this special little creature. I was very pleased with it. Highly recommend this version over other similar products.
