best game this year but a table and time suck :)
I love brain burner games. And this one hit it out of the park. But to really enjoy the first game you play (it took over 2 hours with 3 players)you should watch Rahdo runs through on you tube. The game looks fantastic, I have been fooled before with great looking games. But the limited worker placement really really excited me to this. Was not your typical Euro work place game. Way of Panda was brain crushing, very well made, thoughtout, and is now placed at one of my top board games. But this is not your quick fill in game. It is long to set up, long to play and just as long to put away. So please keep that in mind if looking for a new board game for your game night. But if time is not a factor and if you have a large table, then please try this. Oh and be warned it is not too great with 2 players, but three was a very sweet spot for this type of game. I hope I didnt scare anyone with the time factor and how hard the game is. I think it is worth every dime and the hours playing. Good luck and have fun

Great strategy game
I bought this when it was on sale because it was a great price at the time. My husband and I loved it. Definitely need to use some strategy. The miniatures are really well detailed but you have to paint the bigger yourself if you want colored pieces.

Everbody was Kung Fu Panda
This is a really interesting take on area majority style games. Maybe due to the method of which you place out guys and how you don't really control the cities. So the basic flow of the game is that you are using your little workers to trigger actions. You are building up cities, creating safe paths and earning points. The game flows quickly and plays very quick. It is a much lighter game than it would appear on the surface. This is a good entry point to more complex games. Overall I would rate this a 7 out of 10 (I rounded up to 4 stars)

A heavy euro game in a bright colorful wrapper.
This is an excellent thinky game. We played it with three tonight and we were all very pleased with our experience and plan to play it again soon.Part of it may have been that I had painted all the pieces (see the picture for my faction pieces from our game) but the gameplay is excellent even with the game as it comes. Production quality is, as usual with CMON, excellent.

This game is a chore (even if you ignore it's racism)
Even if this game was fun, it's still offensiveBut it isn't very funIt's tedious and slow, and simply describing a game as euro does not grant it immunity from having tenuous connections between the gameplay and the theme. But watch a how to play video and decide for yourself if this is up your alley, I'm sure you're here to read about the other problem. This is a game about the "Land of the Pandas," with Panda being written in large Chinese Characters as part of the logo. Already, this is a not so subtle way of saying "Stereotypical and uninspired ancient China" while dodging responsibility for irresponsible use of cultural themes by saying "oh but it's Pandas, it's not real, it's fantasy."The "Land of the Pandas" is being attacked by "Evil Ninjas." who look like Monkeys. Ninjas are a pretty not so subtle representation of stereotypical ancient Japan, who of course brutally occupied China in pretty modern history. But it's ok, they're Pandas and Monkeys, it's fantasy. *rolls eyes*The Players play as various Panda Clans, who are competing to see who can reclaim the most land back from the Evil Ninjas in order to earn the favor of the Emperor and become his right hand Panda. At this point, you can probably tell the maker doesn't actually know the difference between Chinese and Japanese history.A great example of the lack of understanding is in the attached image, where the very Chinese Panda General earns very Japanese Mengu mask and Helm.So yeah, the entire theme is a messy cultural exploit crafted to be sold to westerners in order to stand out with stereotypical and irresponsible depictions in a market saturated with European and Tolkienesque themes. The (Not Asian) creators basically just slapped on the animals and called it a day because "it's ok, they're animals, it's all fake."Thanks.
