Beautiful Damascus pattern. The balance and weight are great. The knife slices through meats and veggies like butter. This knife is far sharper than my cheaper chefs and kitchen knives I bought in a bulk pack for the same price. This point was wildly punctuated when I cut my thumb and had no idea until my husband pointed out that I was bleeding on the bone-in ham. Pro tip: remember proper finger and thumb placement when cutting. My thumb slipped and got caught under the *back* of the knife. Long bloody story short, this is a beautifully well crafted knife that is meant for folks who know how to properly handle knives. Respect the razor’s edge!!

Amazing, sharp and you're crazy if you don't buy this for your knife lover

Ordered this(The 3 pc set) as a starter kit as well as several individual items. Initial review, received these items today. The 3pc set was an open box, not new, the plastic wrap for the box entirely missing. This caused the knives to come loose in the box and shift around, with the tip of one protruding from the box and cutting open the packing paper bag they were shipped in. The box took superficial damage from the knives shaking around in it but the knives seem okay. I consider myself lucky that the packaging made it to the door, any number of the boxes of knives could have easily slid out the hole that the other knife cut during travel. As to the quality of the knives. The blades are beautiful. The only con is that the handles aren't perfectly fit and sharp edges of the full tang can be felt all along the handle on most of the knives. I'm unsure if it's enough to cut an unaware hand or fingertip as you can't go very deep with it, but it's worth noting that it's possible if one tried. It may only be a 90 degree angle along the handle, but they're that sharp. Would be fine if the scales were perfectly flush, shaped along with the knife handle/tang the way they're supposed to be. The boxes the knives arrive in is actually impressive(outside of the one that was opened and subsequently damaged). They're thick dense cardboard with magnetic flaps, with nice foam cut-outs for the knife to sit in. It could use another thin layer of foam to help secure the knives. The magnets are not quite strong enough to hold shut during the rigors of shipping. The protective plastic nub for the tips of the knives are a bit of a joke, they were missing from all 3 in the box that was open, and even the others they were just loose in the box, not on the knives at all.
