AWESOME PRODUCT; LOOKS GOOD, TOO
Great gadget for the kitchen cook who failed Home Economics. This mister works sooooooo well and just as described. Sprays a fine, even mist over meats, potatoes, veggies, even the bottom of casserole pan instead of butter, flour, and/or Pam. No more oil-soaked foods!! Even with one of those bottle pour spouts, it never failed. And best of all, no drips or leaks.Easy to fill, easy to disassemble, glass cleans well by hand or dishwasher. I do not put the colored top section in the dishwasher as I love the vivid red color and want finish to last forever. Just remember this is NOT an aerosol type pump like it may appear. The top section requires several pushes with palm of hand to initiate the spray mechanism. No biggie for me but thought it should be mentioned.

Great customer service
For the most part, we like the product. When you follow the directions, it works fine. It appears to keep the mist going longer without cleaning or failing than the other types we have used in the past. If you don’t follow the directions and fill it more than 1/3 -1/2, then the pressure doesn’t last very long; make sense since the volume of air is greatly diminished. After using the Oil Mister for 3 months, the stainless steel cap started to split from the bottom up. So in that sense, the mister did not meet our expectations. We have owned 2 others brands of misters that failed and/or stop misting; although we paid ½ less for those than the Chefvantage mister. For the price of the product compared to cheaper ones, it does don’t seem to hold up as well. So far.Where the product didn't shine, the customer service of the company greatly did. After submitting an email describing the issue to the seller of the oil mister, without question and without me requesting a complete replacement, she immediately sent us a new one, which arrived two days later! This shows a focus on customer satisfaction that seems to be disappearing from many places with each passing year. The owners of the company truly stand behind the products they sell. Where-as the product may not have held up, the company did. I would definitely buy from this company again because of the dedication to the customer.

Great mister!/ no longer great
Love this oil mister! We had one for grape seed oil and decided to buy one for olive oil. It does have a slight learning curve but after you have it figured out it works great! Don’t fill the bottle all the way.UPDATE 1: After only a couple months of use the plastic part cracked on the lid thus making it useless as you can not build up the pressure. While I loved this in the beginning I can not say I love it now. Certainly should have lasted longer than 2-3 months.UPDATE 2: After posting the updated review I received a message from the company saying they will send me out another mister. I will update after using the replacement. I really hope it will last because I did enjoy it while it worked.UPDATE 3: We had purchased two of these oil misters. On one the plunger cracked thus not allowing the pressure to build up in the bottle. The seller sent me a replacement. But sadly the replacement and the other two that I had originally bought all had the same issue. If the plunger issue could be resolved I think it would be a great product. Until then I will search for something that will last longer than a couple months or not even a few weeks.

UPDATED: Great customer service. **Nice looking, but never worked well, so we gave up using it
UPDATE. I contacted the seller and asked for a replacement for the broken plastic insert. They responded in about 10 minutes saying they would send one. I got it a couple days later. The sprayer now works great. I don't fully trust that some plastic part won't break again. But that's just the nature of using plastic for moving parts. I've changed my rating from 1 to 4 stars thanks to the excellent customer service and the now working product.******** Original Review *******I gifted this to the primary cook in the house because they frequently buy the pre-charged aerosol cans for spraying oil and I thought this would allow for using better quality oils, and also end up cheaper, with less waste for the landfill.Unfortunately, despite following the instructions, it never seemed to build enough pressure to do more than drizzle out spatterings of oil for 5 seconds before needing pumping again. It wasn't overfull. And the oil was just normal fresh olive oil. So I can't think of what might be wrong with it.The design is nice looking. The pump action isn't hard to do. But I can see how it would be prone to breaking since the primary moving parts are all a fairly brittle plastic.Ours isn't broken. It's just not functional.I would have returned it, but it was a gift. And I wasn't ever told that it worked poorly over the 6 months since purchase. I just noticed it wasn't getting used, and new cans of spray were being purchased instead. So I tried using it myself, and found it incredibly frustrating. So here I am reviewing it. Too late to return it. But not too late to share my direct experience of spending over 20 for something that can't replace even one disposable.

Overall great sprayer!
I don't want to buy commercial cooking oil sprays because of the chemical ingredients and propellant. I've tried several pump aerosol oil sprayers that have clogged up over time, and I ended up throwing them out. I tried this sprayer, and at first the oil sputtered out, which I read was one of the complaints of this sprayer. I emailed the seller, and she got right back to me, and offered to replace the sprayer part. She also sent information to make sure I was using the sprayer correctly, which I was not using correctly. Once I pumped the air until I felt pressure, then the sprayer worked beautifully! It sprayed a fine mist across my pan. If you've never used a pump sprayer, you'll notice that it doesn't spray like the commercial sprayers - it's more of a gentle spray, and it will run out after about 5 seconds of spraying - which is about how much you need to spray your pan. If you need more, you just pump it back up. It's well worth the effort for having a chemical free oil. I haven't had any problems with clogging at all.
