Shower's like new again
If one is used to taking apart shower valves, this isn't hard to install. The biggest thing to remember is to have the water turned on a bit, say a quarter turn, before loosening the cap. Don't recall the directions it came with being all that fabulous, but the 'net has ample instruction, but not all point that out. It does matter what series valve you have ... iirc mine is a "C" and this may not fit every variant, which I mention because I came close to getting the wrong one. I also didn't need anything but this part; I got the flow rate part too but it wasn't necessary, nor were any added gaskets, O-rings, nuts or bolts. I simply pulled the old one out, cleaned the barrel, and put this one in. Absolutely delighted with the result.

This did not work for me
This did not work for me. I took a picture of the cartridge I took out of my shower next to this model. They look almost identical. The instructions included are printed on what looks like shipping label stickers so after being in the bag with the cartridge there was a bit of damage to the text and it was a little hard to read in spots. I was confused by some of the steps so I ended up looking up the official installation instructions for the shower valve manufacturer. The printed instructions included where essentially an abridged version of the instruction and lined up with the actual instruction just with less descriptive steps.I installed the new valve and immediately noticed a difference. The cartridge I replaced turned pretty much a full 360 degrees starting with cold and moving to hot. This valve has slightly over a 90 degree range of motion. I don’t know which is correct but judging the markings on the cover I assume the 360 is correct. After turning the handle open I got cold and only cold. I never got hot water to come out. If I opened the handle slowly I got cold water at full pressure and once I got to where hot always should start the water pressure immediately dropped to a trickle then slowly built back up to full pressure but still only cold water. Every time I slowly nudged the handle further towards hot I got the same result. Drop in pressure then full cold.I followed the installation instructions included and from the valve manufacture, all parts are in place, and both the hot water and cold water supply lines were turned back on. It would have saved time, money, and effort to just buy the genuine part form the start.

Fixed hard to turn and turning too far handle
I had a dripping tub faucet. I initially planned to replace the cartridge (TA10) but didn't because the local store listed them for $75 and not stocked in-store. (A new handle, faucet, and shower head started at $99 ... so $75 didn't seem worth it). So, I replaced the washers (TA9), which they did have locally, and stopped the leak. However, after putting everything back together, the handle turned very tightly and it also turned beyond 360 degrees before stopping. (I did open the handle to hot before taking everything apart, so I don't *think* I caused this. Btw, open the handle to hot before disassembling to avoid damaging the packing nut.). I pulled everything apart again and greased it all: same problem. Replaced the cartridge: problem solved. (The old cartridge also didn't click when shaken, which It should do. So, it needed replacing anyway.)
