I bought these 11 months ago to use for astrophotography and they have been perfect. I have yet to have to change a battery on any of the 3. As I am a bit clumsy so I have dropped at least 2 of the 3 and they just bounce and are ready to work again. I like the feature of adjusting the beam as it enables you to make it bright and narrow to see that pesky raccoon heading your way. The brightness level on wide beam is perfect for telescope users as it does not affect your night vision. I highly recommend these lights.

These 3 red light flashlights were delivered today,so I can't know about battery life, or long time durability. I can tell you that all three flashlights feel like solid quality items. All three flashlights worked when I put a battery in them. I will update when I know more .

The are well made and very bright. They have three settings: On Full Bright, Flash Full Bright, On Reduced Brightness. For astronomy, I would prefer to not have the Flash Full Bright, but it is easy click it on and off again to get to the Full Brightness or Reduced Brightness. These are a very good value. They are also easy on batteries. They operate a long time on a single AA battery. They are also very compact; easily dropping in a pant pocket or clipping to a shirt pocket.

Purchased for night beach walking and needed red light to not disturb the sea turtles. Sturdy flashlights and my teens enjoyed the movable lens on them. We had a great time with them and saw the meteor show.

I got these to use while working with my telescope at night. The red light is supposed to keep your eyes from having to adjust from dark to bright light and back again.They feel pretty solid... aluminum construction and good solid switch. They have a sliding hood that will make the beam wide and round or narrow and square.

for the price, you have to give it a try. I work as security at a haunted house, and the red led light is great in the woods, to keep from blinding everyone. out of the three, one is completely dead, new batteries, and swapping switches did not fix it. the second one is hit and miss on turning on, swapping switches again, did not fix it. the third does not get used as often, but seems to still work. the lights are a solid build, for housing, etc, the adjustable beam is decent, and when they work, they are great. for a small, cheap beater light, you will use for a few weeks a year, sure get them. if you need a reliable light, I'd really have to say you should look elsewhere.*******UPDATE*******after my initial review, the seller reached out to me. They offered a full refund, as well as replacement lights. This seller does appear to out for 100% customer satisfaction, and to me, that is what is important with a store. sometimes a product is just bad out of the box, the seller has offered to test the items before shipping, this time, and did not even want the defective ones returned. I will keep them in mind for additional purchases.

I have been an amateur astronomer for over 50 years. Looking for a red light for reading charts or looking at your camera? Then buy these. They have a low and a high setting for brightness. You can also go from spot to flood. Nice construction and a large push button. I have had the Celestron brand variable light for years and I just got tired of it. And it was not that bright. These lights are going to be easy to use in the field. Love the clip too. I am using AA batteries. Glad I purchased them. Fast shipping from the seller too.

These are great little lights. I originally bought them because my wife likes to check our infant while he's sleeping at night and the red light, while bright, is a lot better and doesn't wake him up like a white flashlight does. I've found all kinds of uses for them and basically have them stashed throughout the house. The red light is perfect for use when you're coming from compete dark and will be going back to complete dark. It doesn't wake you up or shrink your pupils. My only complaint, and why it got 4 stars, not 5 stars, is because the inside is too large for a standard AA battery. The battery will shift within the light and lose contact = no light. This is easily remedied by wrapping the battery a couple of times with masking tape. It'd be better if there was a small plastic sleeve/tube that was inside the light to fill the gap around the battery and keep it in place. Otherwise it's super durable, very useful and a great value for the price. It's nice to be able to switch the beam size from flood to spot and have bright/dim/flash options. Great little light.
