KUTSUWA’s STAD / HiLine Pencil Cap for wood pencil protects your sharpened pencil tip from chipping and breaking. Keep your pencil case clean without the mess of pencil marks all over. Your sharpened pencil lead tip will last longer using this pencil point protector cap. You won’t have to sharpen your pencil each time you take it out of your pencil case. Using a pencil protector cover makes it even possible to carry your pencils around in your shirt or a jacket pocket without lead smears. These metal caps are made of light yet durable aluminum in 9.5mm diameter (Inside: 7.8 ±0.2mm)x 55mmH and accommodate triangular, hexagonal and rounded shaped pencils. A small slit along the side of the pencil cover gives flexibility to slightly expand or squeeze so it can accommodate different size pencils. There is enough extra room on the tip to accommodate longer pencil lead point. Pencil caps work not only as a cover for pencils but also work great as a pencil extender holder for your short pencils. It’s the perfect tool for everyone from professional artists to school kids or even for your office. Convenient lead tip protector caps are available in Silver (3ea/pk) and Assorted metallic color (6ea/pk). Review: Best Option f - Perfectly designed and made, reasonably priced and cute. Of course. They are Japanese made. They still care about quality of things they manufacture. Review: Secret Gem. - When I say it's a secret gem, I'm not speaking specifically of this particular model or manufacture, but rather, this type of thing is something I wish I'd had when I was in grade school, but didn't learn about until well after university. They have two primary uses. The main use is a point protector. This is useful whether you have your pencil in a box, your pocket, or a loop on your apron. You can sharpen a pencil, put the cap on it, put it in your pocket, go for a walk, and when you're done, your pencil is still just as sharp as when you put the cap on. It's not only quite convenient, but it will prolong the life of your pencils. The second use is a little more subtle. If you put it on the back of your pencil, it becomes a small pencil extender, so not only does this help your pencil last longer, but it allows you to use more of it comfortably. And, they're inexpensive so if you lose one, it doesn't hurt to replace it.

Useful
These are great. I’ve read some reviews saying they won’t fit normal pencils, that they slip off. Well that’s half true. These were originally made for Japanese pencils which are slightly thicker than our standard number 2 pencils. But I actually use them for my #2 pencils. I just carefully press the opening with my fingers to close the small slit it has without actually bending the metal. Just a light press makes the opening small enough to fit a normal pencil. I’ll definitely buy more if needed.

Looked all over for these!
I’m old school and don’t really care for mechanical pencils. All of my pencils end up with broken lead tips - even though I have them in a pencil case. These caps are old school, and I couldn’t find them anywhere…office supply stores, Walmart, nowhere! So glad Amazon carries them! Now, all my pencil tips stay sharp and unbroken!

Nifty item
Works OK, they have a slit at the bottom which helps with adjusting to pencil size.

Pretty but unusable
Great in theory, not so much in practice. This brand came highly recommended so I had high hopes. Maybe they only fit the very expensive pencils? I'm using just plain Ticonderogas and they fall right off which makes them unusable. Long point hits the inside of the cap and gets crushed. There's a slot in the side of the cap to allow it to stretch a bit, but there's no way to tighten it down.
