Worth the money, and they work great!
I suffer from Big Toe Joint pain in both feet, but especially in my right foot. This is a result of the connective tissue being worn away between the toe joints, leading to bone on bone friction. At the suggestion of my orthopedist last year, I bought one carbon fiber insert (another seller through Amazon with a product called Onujo fiber insole) to put into my right shoe, so that my right foot toes don't bend when walking. It did the trick. The insert took the pressure off my right toe, because it stayed stable, so almost no pain. I did need a soft insert (e.g., like a Dr. Scholl's gel insert) over the carbon fiber insert because I needed some padding to protect my heel and sole from the carbon fiber's hard surface. I felt sometimes on my right foot that I was walking like Frankenstein, just plopping my foot down, because the foot didn't bend when it hit the ground. Unfortunately, the pain got so bad this year that I had surgery to fuse my Big Toe. Now it really doesn't bend at all, so no friction and no pain, and the carbon fiber insert keeps my right foot flat. Since my left Big Toe pain is now getting worse, I decided to get another carbon fiber insert to see if that would help me postpone surgery for that foot. I went with this vendor because I got two inserts compared to the price of the one I bought last year. So far, so good. These inserts appear to be identical in every way except for the price, and hopefully they keep me walking and pain-free for a good, long time.

Very effective, great price.
My foot surgeon wants to reduce my foot bend/movement as much as possible due to arthritis and suggested I find a very stiff soled shoe. Easier said than done. It was impossible to find everything in a shoe including that even though I gave up long ago on ever wearing "pretty" shoes again due to my fused ankes/feet. So I thought of inserts, found these and bingo. They seem to work well and the price is outstanding compared to others online. They're extremely thin, rigid and also very narrow so even the men's won't even come close to the width of the shoe but that's not necessary for them to work. They take up very little room which is great since I have much thicker inserts I also wear. Because they're so rigid, they can be a little annoying to push all the way into the toe area of certain styles of laced shoes/sneaks. Therefore I bought several more pairs in order to avoid having to switch them from 1 pair of shoes to another. I bought a 9 mens; I wear a womens 10.5-11. Measure carefully because they're metal and not trimmable! A great buy.

No flex, No pain, Great option
I purchased this for my arthritic joint at the base of my big toe. My podiatrist recommended it for the time being until, or if I need the fusion surgery. No flex is key here, but I didnโt want to give up my skecher slide ins! I removed the insole and added a cut to fit dryer sheet to the bottom of the carbon fiber with two-sided tape. Absolutely donโt skip this step or itโs squeaky. Inserted the carbon first, then put back the original insole (the thin one that comes with this set works fine and is a little thinner so do whatโs more comfortable.) voila! No problems so far and I have been walking with it daily for a couple weeks now.

Recommend
My ortho doctor recommended these. Iโve developed arthritis & beginning of bone spurs in the bones on the top of my foot. These are a firm, rigid PLATE that keep your shoe from bending at the toe & ball of foot thus relieving pressure farther up the foot. They are NOT a soft, comfy, arch support. That is not their purpose. They help prevent flexing of the toes/ball of foot & in doing so yes, your heel rises out of your shoe a little. Takes some gtg used to cuz it makes your shoe rigid & they prevent you from pushing off from the toe area as you walk. I ordered my shoe size & they fit perfectly. You rip out your shoes insole. Put in the carbon plate & cover with the insole that comes with the plate. After a couple days I am 90% pain free. Highly recommend.

Pain free- finally!
I have suffered for two years with a fractured toe. i was put in a boot; went through shots on the top of my foot; and then a turf toe brace. My physical therapist recommended we try this approach and what a difference! It supports the toe and allows me to resume my normal activities. I have now purchased three pair which really gives me 6 for my left foot by simply turning the right one over! I could not be happier! I will never be able to wear heels again but I am thrilled to be able to run, walk and hike!

Works, but not soft.
These aren't comfortable, but they can help reduce your shoe bending. Recommend wearing a brace in shoe or cushion insoles with it.

Good Carbon Fiber Plates
My daughter needed carbon, fiber, and salt or extraction rack to her foot. We ordered these due to the low cost and weโre not disappointed. The size was as advertised. It fit her shoe. I canโt see any of these comfortable since it is a metal plate, your shoe, but I feel it does what it supposed to do. The Support is there, the plates do not bend.. They are easy to use if you just sit in your shoe they have waxed through an entire Field Hockey in lacrosse season and they still looking brand new.

I injured my foot, and my doctor recommended these carbon fiber insoles for my recovery, especially for walking long distances. They really helped fix my issue, and I even realized I had other foot alignment problems while using them! They are very comfortable for support, but I strongly recommend against working out or doing anything that requires bending your feet in these. Because the insoles are rigid and do not bend, you could hurt yourself if you try to flex your foot. Great for support, but stay on flat ground!
