Pure Evil - How Tracie Andrews murdered my son, decieved the nation and sentenced me to a life of pain and misery

Interesting book
Remembering the dreadful murder at the time encouraged me to buy this book. It was a good, if harrowing read and my heart goes out to the Harvey family and I also wish peace and healing to the Andrews family. However, there are always three sides to every story - yours, mine and the truth! This couple was a match made in hell but obviously fueled by lust, passion or whatever were unable to stay away from each other. Despite Maureen's vision of Lee as the nicest, kindest and everything else he was supposed to be (and naturally that's what she saw, she was his Mum), I don't for a second believe no blame lay with him. I also don't believe he never lay a hand on Tracie. I truly believe he did and no one but Tracie and Lee will every know what exactly happened that night.I do think Maureen could be a little bit more dignified in her book despite all the grief and hatred she so rightfully has after losing her son. This barrage of name calling to Tracie throughout the book takes from it a lot. Tracie by all accounts was not a nice person by any stretch of the imagination, had obviously lots of issues and problems but she certainly found the wrong person in Lee and him in her. Together they were a lethal combination, a time-bomb and I don't believe for a second it was a case of the Saint and the devil. This, to me, was a murder that took place during a massive row with rage that couldn't be contained and it could have been either of them that died that night. Hopefully they all find peace one day.

A great book. You won't want to put it down
Great insight from the mother of her murdered son Lee.I was put off purchasing this book as I thought the book was written by the evil killer and I didn't want to line her pocket in any way.I'm so glad I re looked at it.A truly honest and heartbreaking story.I'm a true believer in karma and if she does ever get out she will always be looking over her shoulder.Thank you for telling your story and I wish you and your family a happy and healthy life.you will always Remember Lee and you will carry him in your heart always. She has ruined your past don't let her ruin your future..

Excellent book
I loved this book, it was written from a mother's heart which is broken and will never mend, the strength and courage of Lee's family are amazing and I'm sure he would be soo proud of how hard they have fought to keep his memory alive. Although now Andrews is free from prison she will never be free from the title of Murderer until she dies, Maureen named the book perfectly, as Pure Evil is what Andrews will always be.

Very well written
This book is so sad. I really feel for Maureen & Ray Harvey and this family. Pure Evil is a perfect title for the book just sums up Tracie Andrews.Unfortunately she is out of prison now with a new identity and a new husband. My God poor guy must be desperate to have any association with her. He needs to watch his back.I hope all your family Maureen have found peace. God bless you all

Bitch
I read This story so heart breaking what families go through its terrible .my aunt's brother got off at the a bridge in Glasgow cause he had not enough money to cover the whole taxi fare so he took a short cut home only to be stopped by a thug and asked him for money he explained he had none and had to get out taxi early cause he only had so much it did not stop this person stabbing him and he died .it's awful how someone could just snuff out someone's life .my thoughts are with all victims families .

sad bitter
Understandably bitter and full of hatred for her sons killer however the constant hammering home how terrible this girl is and what an angel her son was does get a bit boring, once you have painted something black it doesn't matter how many coats of paint you give it it doesn't get any blacker. I hope writing this book helped her but professional therapy would probably help more. I remember the case when it happened and what came across was not an evil person who met and killed a saint but that of two people who were in a destructive relationship, it seemed that there were faults on both sides. It would be much more interesting to read if it were written by someone who was unbiased, plus the constant savagery and spleen venting( understandable though it is ) actually had me feeling more sympathy for Tracie than anyone else

A difficult read
Like many other reviewers I found this book hard to read because of the anger & hatred that leaps from it's pages. I understand that Maureen Harvey & her family would be devastated by Lee's murder & that their pain would take a long time to diminish. I also understand Maureen's strong feelings towards Tracie and her behaviour long after she was jailed. What I don't understand is why Maureen took on such a long & detailed campaign to find out so much about Tracie's life in prison, as well firing off letters to anybody who disagreed with her belief that murderers should be jailed for life. Even the most impassioned of writers would concede that there is always another view than their own, but Maureen even wrote to a prison governor & told her she didn't know how to do her job! I wish that someone could have helped Maureen at the time of writing the book as she seemed so wounded & desperate for support. I would have wanted her to use her energy to rebuild her own life instead of trying to destroy Tracie's. As the book was published several years ago & Tracie has now been released, I hope Maureen now has peace in her life & is moving forward & enjoying her time with her family.
