Read the Description Carefully to be Pleased
Pay attention to the size of the sheets as they call it out in the item description. It's a very handy set of pads and foam block for use. I gave a wonderfully smooth satin finish to a previously heavily lacquered bass guitar neck. It is easier to play now.

Works well to polish baked polymer clay to a glossy shine
I bought this set after seeing a YouTube video by polymer clay artist Ana Belchi on sanding and polishing baked polymer clay pieces. For certain types of pieces, whether flat or curved, this is a great way to achieve a satin finish or a glossy one without using glazes, as you can avoid drips or other unevenness that sometimes occur with glazes, especially those that you brush on that may leave brush marks. (Sanding would not be appropriate for pieces that have designs painted on the surface, or certain other surface treatments such as glitter, since sanding would likely remove these.)I used the set, in the proper progression, to polish a lentil-shaped bead (a curved piece) I had baked using two colors of clay with two different sheens — one, a sparkly bronze, and the other a matte purple. (I started by sanding the piece first with a 400 grit wet/dry sandpaper, even though the instructions say that the 1500 grit is similar to a conventional 400 grit, just to be safe.). As you can see from the photos, the polishing made quite a difference in the shine on both colors. It’s probably more noticeable on the purple, since it was matte. In the photos below, the bead on the left was polished with the Micro Mesh series. The bead on the right was not; that is how it looked after baking and cooling. (The long pin at the bottom of the photos is there just to prop up the beads for photographing.)I began the sanding using water, but as I got to the last few finer grits I used them dry, as I found that the water was interfering with the polishing — that’s how fine the grits are! I’m glad that this set was labeled with the grits, which helped enormously in doing the sanding in the proper order. As I just received and used the set for the first time, I can’t really opine on the durability and longevity, which is why I gave only 4 stars for those features. However, given the relatively brief time one needs to use each grit, I think they’ll last for a while.

Great set of Micromesh pads for smaller projects !!!
This set of Micro Mesh pads are very flexible and easy to work with, and as many other reviewers stated, they are easy to clean and re-use, and will obviously last much longer than sandpaper. The range of grits in the set are ideal for finishing once you are done with the more coarse sanding. After working up to 400 grit wet/dry sandpaper, the Micro Mesh 1500 (which is supposedly approximately equal to 400 grit sandpaper) is a perfect starting point to continue on with finer sanding and polishing. Some of the reviews mentioned the cost was a bit high for the small pads, but I think they are worth the price for my project (building an unfinished kit guitar), especially considering they are very easy to clean, and will likely last until my project is done, and then some. Aside from sanding the guitar body between coats of Tru Oil, the finer grits of Micro Mesh are amazing for polishing the neck, fingerboard, and frets.I would definitely buy them again if needed, but I think these will last for a while !

Great kit
This Micro-Mesh kit is a fantastic starting point for anyone new to woodworking. The variety of grits included allows you to achieve a smooth, professional finish on your projects. The foam sanding block is comfortable to hold and makes it easy to apply even pressure. I'm really impressed with the quality of these sheets – they cut quickly and evenly. Highly recommend!

Works great on scale models!
I was having difficulty finding what is called a "polishing kit" for my scale model automobiles. I did happen to find one but it was very overpriced. This woodworker's kit contains basically the same contents....the pliable sanding sheets and foam block. There is no polish included as in the plastic polishing kit, but I have plenty of polish on hand. The sanding sheets are what I was after, since they do wear out with use over time, (thus the "4" durability rating). The price is very reasonable and there is even one "extra" sheet of 1500 grit that the plastic polishing kit does not have. By starting with 3200 or 4000 grit and a bit of water, one can carefully polish the surface of a painted model car. Periodically transfer to the next highest number grit until you have reached 12000 and you should have a smooth glossy finish.. I am a happy guy!

Lots of uses. Great product.
Worked great. I have used Micromesh many times to polish out scratches in airplane windshields. This time it was to restore faded, yellowed headlights. I do wish the kit had come in a small box for storage, but otherwise completely satisfied.

The mesh may be micro, but the value and quality are not.
Not gonna lie, I paid a third the price of these here that they’d cost elsewhere, and they’re the same damn thing and work just as well as the more expensive brands. Easy recommend.

Yeah, I'm impressed.
How do I say awesome enough ways?I was looking at my kit just now and thought that maybe it is time to replace them. So, I looked up my order on Amazon only to find out that I purchased this kit in 2010. I've put it to all sorts of uses over the years, washing them 100 times or more, including polishing some of my 40-50 year old pool cue shafts, silver belt buckles that got scratched, all sorts of plastics, smoothing joints between metal parts, cleaning up small burrs, and generally anything I think would look better with just some elbow grease.Durability?15 years says all it needs to.Value?Check!Usefulness?Double check!Am I going to buy another kit?Is there a question?
