I have a RetroUSB AVS system I've owned for 10 months now. At first, I bought the Retro-Bit Origin 8 controllers and was disappointed from the start with them. The receiver dongle on the Origin 8 does not fit tightly in the controller port, and Retro-Bit's customer service won't acknowledge the issue. I suffered along with the Origin 8 controllers until I saw this new 8Bitdo N30 translucent black controller! I had decided against the previous design of the N30 because it lacked a USB-C charge port. This new design has a USB-C charge port!Pros:The receiver dongle FITS SNUGLY AS IT SHOULD in the controller port of my RetroUSB AVS!!No lag!Great feel in your hands, feels more durable than the Retro-Bit Origin 8 controller.Looks great, I like the translucent black design.There is a blue light on the receiver and the controller that blinks when powered and goes steady when paired and ready, easy to see.USB-C charge port.Cons:The only con is the blue light on the controller is really bright, but that's only a minor, minor con.If you're trying to decide between this 8Bitdo N30 translucent black controller and the Retro-Bit Origin 8 controller, go for this one, hands down. I am extremely dissatisfied that Retro-Bit's customer service would never acknowledge the problem with the Origin 8 dongle fitting so loose, even with multiple complaints from myself and numerous others you can find in Amazon reviews of their product.

The original edition of this controller seems to have gone out of production and I was disappointed that I missed my chance to get some of my own after trying them at a friend's place, so I was ecstatic to see these available. They're rock solid, look awesome, the tactile response of the buttons is great, and they last a good long while on a full charge. Did I mention they look cool? Now I want to shell out for the expensive smoke shell replacement for my NES just to make it match. At first I thought more ergonomic NES controllers were my preference, but there's something hypnotic about the nostalgic rectangular feel unencumbered by a cable. 8Bitdo, please keep making these so I can continue to recommend them to my fellow retro gamers!

These work great on my retron 3 and original nes system! My brother and I got to play many nes games together. He don’t like controllers with cords and these allowed him and I to get to play the nes games. Easy to use and set up. Just plug into the unit and hit the start button they connect just like that and you’re playing your game favorites. When I got them out of the box I charged them it took like 30 to 45 min and they were fully charged. We played for hours I put them back on charge and it took 30 to 45 mins to charge. Quick charge, no cables, long play, and nice smooth connection!
