bottom threads are 1-1/4 pipe

The description claims it fits a 1-1/2 inch pipe The threaded nut fits the pipe although I don't know what good it does because if you screw it on the pipe the gauge has male threads so can't be screwed together. But the real problem is the float, it is too large to fit inside of a 1-1/2 inch pipe. So, It can't go in the tank.
