Excellent value for money. Used for metal work

Since I've received this I've tried but failed to bash it to death, using it for copper, silver, aluminium and, of course, glowing-hot iron. I've had to grind down the bill to make it smooth, but the upper plate is, as far as can be achieved, optically flat - well, as far as you can get cast-iron. Good quality and the cheapest out there. If in doubt, just buy it! At 5 kgs it caused some consternation with the postie (delivered day after order), but then again I did give him a tenner at Christmas. And the shipping was free, which was nice. Just buy it. All the others are over-priced either by price of item and/or shipping. PS: I am remiss! The shipping was 35p, which is less than a letter, so I'm not going to kick up a storm on this huge additional cost.

Definitely worth the outlay, this is a super little anvil somewhere in between proper blacksmithing anvils and jewellery anvils. For general purpose hobby / modelling work, this is a great size. Size is difficult to describe, so I've added a photo of mine with a whiteboard marker sitting on top to give you a sense of scale. Casting quality seems fine. You could polish the horn up a little if you really wanted, but it's as good as most vice castings. For the price, it's great value for money.

I ordered this anvil on the basis of competitive price offered by the seller. The product arrived in super fast time and the quality and finish is extrememely good. I fitted the anvil on my bench and spent the next 7hrs giving it heavy use, the casting quality is good and to date it has performed very well showing little wear. A product well worth buying.

had a little while (approx 3-4 months) ;seems fine, could be ground smoother , appears quite dented(1 -2 mm -that said, has had some great bangs from some over enthusiastic novice.

This anvil is top quality and a good size for bench top work, the work surface is well machined flat and size is good for a great deal of small metal work projects. excellent.

Good quality and excellent value for money. Just what I was looking for. I was pleasantly surprised that there was no cost for postage and packaging. I would recommend both this anvil and the company I bought it from to anyone who is looking for a medium size anvil.
