Review: Excellent guide, we bought it for a cruise to the Canary Islands . Covers all the islands in depth and will enhance your holiday. Review: Very good. We have avoided Lonely Planet guidebooks in the past because of their size, weight, and inclusion of so much detail as to make them almost unreadable. But we had no choice in this case, as theirs was the only recently-published Canary Islands book we could find. This one is quite readable and appears to be as up-to-date as these published travel guidebooks can be. Once we take the trip (in February), we will see how accurate it is, and I will update if there are any issues.

We have just returned from a few days exploring the Canary Islands, visiting Fuerteventura and Lanzarote, and this guidebook proved extremely helpful in planning our trip. I used it extensively to organize our itinerary, and the structure (with separate chapters for each island and their regions) made it easy to focus on the specific areas. I’ve read comments saying the book isn’t detailed enough, but I disagree. It provides just the right level of information without overwhelming the reader with data that can quickly become outdated. Practical details such as opening hours or prices are best checked online anyway, and this guide focuses instead on reliable, timeless advice. The book complemented our online research perfectly, offering thoughtful insights, great recommendations (including many lesser-known spots) and useful tips for experiencing the islands in a more local and authentic way. I can warmly recommend this book to anyone planning a trip to the Canary Islands, especially those who enjoy preparing their travels with a mix of printed and online resources.

It is poorly organized, has no help for how to get to places and has no information as to where to stay.
