Extend the main rod, paying attention to the silver peg is in hole as I "lost it" once and it took a bit of turning to relocate it. My application was about 8 feet, and the silver peg ended up on the 15th hole. I used the longer extension pole only. The shorter extension pole would have been too short alone, and too long if using both. Went up pretty easily, and easy to adjust. Looks great.

This is a very solid, sturdy rod. It is perfect for my purpose. I have a recessed window and wanted to cover it to keep the cold out. There isn't a lot of extra space above or on the sides of the window to hang a traditional rod with finials. This worked great. You can adjust the size to get the rod as close as possible to what you need, then put it in place and tighten it down. The adjustment process is easy. The grippers on each end seem very strong and rubbery so the rod is quite secure. If you are a renter, this is a great way to hang curtains without drilling holes, then you can take the rod with you when you leave. I recommend this rod.

Perfect solution for a very large picture window. Custom blinds/shades were not in the budget for us so this tension was rod did the trick. The tension rod is very nice looking (just like a regular curtain rod). Added some semi sheer curtain panels for privacy

The latching holes in the rod will let water in Causing rod to freeze and burst. The curtain Catches on the rod when closing or opening.
