This item is pretty huge but it works well. It is wooden and works much better than the glass cup I was using before. I wish the actually wood piece spun but it’s really not necessary.

I bought this as a gift for a friend who, in her early 50's, has never had a rolling pin. She always used a glass or bottle to roll pie crusts, biscuits, cookie dough, although because of the limitations, she seldom baked. (I knew those days well.) She loves it. The weight and structure are ideal for whatever she makes from biscuits and cookies to pies and large pizzas. The handles are longer than my marble rolling pin making it easier to work with because of they allow for easier manipulation across the dough. She told me that this is very easy to clean. It just goes to show, something does not have to be expensive to work well.

When I tried to roll the dough it stuck to the roller like velcro. I also couldn't push down on the handles as they were weak and flimsy. In the end reverted to using an old wine bottle instead.
