A good solid introduction to the more recent developments in DCC model railroading.
This book contains very up-to-date coverage of most aspects of Digital Command Control that model railroaders would be interested in, including, for example, the Peco (UK) SmartSwitch system. There are many excellent colour illustration, and coverage of wiring and speakers is particularly good. The treatment of DCC decoders per se, and of programming same, is rather superficial but the author, Allam Gartner, readily admits these topics lie outside the scope of this introduction. Nevertheless, even experienced model railroaders are sure to find some material of interest in this slim volume.
