Great Value for the Money [Updated on 3/27/26]
I'm in the process of phasing out a 10 year old portable gas generator with this Generac dual fuel version. My new Generac arrived nicely packaged. Assembly was fairly easy. Now I'm into the 30 hour engine break in phase. Today I did the Initial Engine Run with No Load. I like the fact that intuitive instructions are visible on the generator frame for Manual or Electric Starts. I'm breaking in the engine using gasoline and I followed the routine for Electric Starts. After adding the break in engine oil and gasoline, the engine fired up with one push of the button. [BTW-I really like the Fuel Gauge since my old generator doesn't have one.] It ran smooth and powerful for the entire one hour initial start up period. And it's quieter than my old generator. The controls for Selection of Fuel [Gas or Propane], the Choke, Fuel On/Off Switch are well marked and responsive. While it was running I tried the connections for the 120 Volt AC 20-Amp GFCI Duplex Receptacle and the 120/240 Volt AC, 30 Amp Locking Receptacle, with extension cords. No problems here. It was also easy to attach the LP regulator connecting hose to the valve on an empty 20 lb. LP cylinder, and also attach the opposite end of the hose to the generator. No problems here. When the Hour Meter registered "1" I shut the generator down. I will complete the remaining 29 hours of the engine break in period with variable limited loads in the coming days. After the break in period, I will replace the engine oil with a synthetic oil per the Owner's Manual. My impression to this point is that I got great value for the money invested. And when I switch out my old generator from the Manual Transfer Switch, in my house, I believe my Generac 9,400 Starting Watt Dual Fuel Portable Generator will power my home, when needed, for many years to come. [I will provide updates to this review in the coming days as I progress to the end of the break in period for my new generator.] I completed my engine break in period on 3/27/26 and changed the oil in accordance with the Owner's Manual guidance. I switched out my old generator and connected my new Generac to the Manual Transfer Switch in my house. Now I have peace of mind and protection against future power outages for many years to come.

A better piece of equipment
This is a much better piece of equipment than the โmass importโ companies offer. Smoother operation with negligible metal to metal noise. Much tighter operation. Just a better piece of equipment

Only works if you hit it with a wrench.
Buyer bewareโฆwhile the gasoline option started as expected, the propane option hasnโt worked properly once. Trying to get someone on the phone with customer service was a nightmare; be prepared to get bounced from dept to dept. They claim to have servicers listed on their website, but half of the shops listed are closed. The one we were able to finally talk to doesnโt service portable units, but did manage to get the propane option startedโฆapparently you have to hit the regulator just right with a wrench half a dozen times.

very easy to use, and is able to use both LP gas and petrol.
This dual fuel Generac generator has been very effective in empowering my house when I lost power. My first use was early May and I lost power for three days and it ran very efficiently, gas consumption was relative needing about 10 gallons in the three days that it was in use. Itโs very easy to start and hook up. It powered most of my appliances, including refrigerator, stove, microwave, fans,my water pump, and Boiler I would recommend this to anyone who needs a generator that can power your house when you lose electricity.

Dependable, and reliable
Easy to assemble and it started as it should and work through it out of the box. Have not used it yet for a storm, but Iโm sure it will be good as we have another Generac generator and that one has worked flawlessly

Lots of power. Versatile
Good generator so far. I like that I can run on propane. Puts out sufficient power to lift my aircraft hanger door where others of similar price were not rated to do so.

Great
Started right up and worked

Expensive and lousy
Piece of junk. Fuel lever rusted and fell off, wonโt start, noisy, poorly engineered.
