Read in full for honest review
I was very reluctant to purchase these anti-colic bottles as I thought it was a gimmick. Was told to try and use anti-reflux milk to ease the reflux of my little girl. Eventually ended up giving her constipation. So I then turned to these, especially since they were on offer. I have read many reviews of these bottles and I just want to outline my own experience.1. Reviews say the bottles work but leak terribly. Actually, if you tightened the lid too much it clicks and will wobble a little in place. This is avoided by ensuring it is not over tightened. Also, make sure the white circular piece is pushed firmly into the bottle opening before screwing the lid. I have never experienced a leak since doing the above.2. Reviews say that the bottle leaks when milk is warm. There is a strip on the side of the inner vent which turns from blue to a pink if the milk is too hot. Funnily enough, the instruction menu does not mention this. Nevertheless, ensure the strip remains blue when using a desired milk temp as too warm causes the internal pieces to expand therefore causing leaks.3. There is a slit on the end of the inner middle piece. The star shaped piece at the end will need to be pulled apart using a pinch, just like opening a crisp packet. Careful not to pull too hard as the silicone tip can rip all the way. If you manage to do this, you will hear a drastic reduction of air being pulled in by baby every time they suck on the teat.4. Make sure you use the silicone teats that come with the bottles. You can use any tommee tippee ones as replacement but note that used teats tend to lose their rigidity over time and fold in on themselves if baby sucks to hard.Hopefully I haven't missed anything out. I am so thankfuk for these bottles. Has a made a huge positive difference to sleep in the nights. Baby stirs less and seems to be in deep sleep most times now.

Wear and tear but avoid trapped wind brilliantly
My baby never had any reflux or colic etc, so I think they’re great for reducing wind. They’re attractive too. But 6 months down the line and they’re starting to really show wear and tear. Because there’s so many parts to the bottles, washing in them is a pain in the back side. I’ve got 9 bottles to see me through a day and night without needing to do multiple washes in one day, and fortunately since he’s begun weaning, he’s having less bottles because some of them have started to leak. I’m not sure why, it’s impossible to tell and there’s 6 pieces that make up each bottle so it could be any of those bits!! It’s also annoying that you need to buy the faster flow teats after 3 months but I think that’s pretty standard with all the manufacturers. Overall, great bottle just a tad irritating how much extra washing there is.

Fantastic bottles if you use the correctly
It's crazy to see how many people are saying the bottles leak. They really don't UNLESS you're doing something wrong. We've used these bottles for 3 months now and we haven't had any problems. The anti-colic technology is great and our little baby hasn't had any problems with wind and he hasn't been colicky ever. The bottles are very easy to use. If you find they're leaking check these few things before you get frustrated with them:1. The valve should never be closed. Always press the valve before putting the insert in the milk.2. Don't aggressively shake the milk to mix it! Use a stirrer/knife to mix the powder gently and afterwards assemble the bottle as usual.3. Don't use boiling or super hot water! The water temperature for the milk shouldn't be lower than 70°C - this should be something you already know. However I've noticed that if the temperature is 80°C or more (10 mins of waiting after boiling as opposed to 20 mins) the water will change the bottle shape temporarily. Meaning the blue ring that screws can screw more than it should! This also happens if you JUST sterilised the bottle and it didn't cool down. It's normal behaviour under conditions of high heat. Apart from that if the water temperature is very high the valve can seal itself back or the valve can open and milk can go through the little pipe thus making it leak. IF this ever happens don't shake it aggressively and wonder why it's leaking. Just unscrew it and check the valve. If milk is in the pipe just disconnect the valve and let the milk flow out. Afterwards just assemble it as usual. So simple!I promise it's not complicated to use them and the bottles are NOT FAULTY. It's just user error whether you admit it or not.So once again: check the valve, use water that is over 70°C but I'd say not past 75°C for optimal results and make sure your bottles are not too hot after sterilising them. SUPER SIMPLE. And preferably stir the powder with a knife or something else before assembling the bottle. If you choose the shake at least just turn the bottle up & down gently. That works well too but it can make some bubbles which will end up in your baby's tummy. The bottles are truly fantastic and gentle on the baby's tummy compared to MANY others.

These do not leak when used properly
These bottles do not lean when used correctly and the milk is just warm. It’s worth noting my baby will take her milk cold so to ensure these don’t leak I just make the bottle using one of the tt white lids and leave to cool in cold water. I then add the anti colic vent and teat. I was slightly reluctant about buying these bottles because of the reviews, but my baby has always used tommee tippee and recently has had painful trapped wind so I wanted to give them a go. As long as the milk is just warm not hot and everything is in place correctly these bottles do not leak. The bottles shouldn’t be shook as this causes leaks but you actually shouldn’t shake formula as this adds air into the milk. Hope thy is helps anyone looking to buy these bottles.
