We have a 2-yard dumpster, and these straps keep the dogs and small animals from tearing into the trash every night. The bolts are huge, providing a strong anchor for the straps. What is nice is being able to use one hand to unlock the strap to open the top. We ensure the straps are open before the dumpster is emptied each week to prevent them from being broken or cut by the trash guy. But the straps have kept four huge dogs from getting to the bags and keeping the ravens from being able to open the lids.

These locking straps are large and hefty. We’ve got some big raccoons but they won’t have a chance against these. When I saw the mounting bolts (⅜”?) I thought it was a bit excessive. As I drilled the refuse container for mounting I realized that the larger bolts will minimize the possibility of the straps tearing loose if stressed. So thumbs up for the heavy hardware.I like having two straps instead of one as is the case with some competing products. I want to keep the straps out of the way of the trash hauler’s equipment. So a shortened strap on each side provides a firm hold and minimal dangling hardware.
