Maasdam, Sorghum Syrup, 22 oz.

I was given a bottle from Chef Shop as a gift and found it good enough that, when the bottle was empty, to replace it. I ordered two directly from Maasdam. When they came, one had foamed over and spilled a good bit in the box. However, it tasted OK, so I used it, but only after contacting the company by email. Several months later I have had no response. I just took the second bottle out of the pantry and discovered that it too had foamed. The pressure was such that a hole developed in the bottom of the plastic bottle, and I have sorghum all over a shelf and down to the floor.I can't understand how a product that is mostly sugar would, I guess ferment after being boiled as this had to be. Even more, I cannot understand, or tolerate, being ignored. I will find another source and advise everybody to do the same.

The other 2 star review is correct...it tastes more like molasses than sorghum...it is verydark and thick and heavy tasting like molasses. I got some in SC and can't find a wayto order more or I would...that stuff was great.

We've been eating this sorghum for 50+ years. It's a Christmas tradition. You put a pat of butter on the plate, spoon sorghum on top. Mash the sorghum into the butter with a fork. Then eat it on a fresh baked, home made biscuit. Great with biscuits and gravy. So, so good.
