Bought as an instruction tool for grandkids. Did that, just, but as a UV light source it's a flop. Nice blue light - in the dark - and will just about pick out the security marks on bank notes and postage stamps.Nor recommended - unless that's what you want.......

I bought this torch because I was experimenting with invisible inks (Noodlers Blue Ghost fountain pen ink), and this torch works really well. I do run mine off the 14500 Lithium Ion rechargeable battery, which on this style of torch gives a much improved brightness compared to a standard 1.5V AA battery. It does get warm when used for an extended period, but there are so few occasions where it is needed for a run time of several minutes.

I bought this UV light to highlight puppy urine and bleach on a mopped vs steam cleaned floor, it definitely works, although using a standard AA battery it is pretty limited in output if you fit a rechargeable lithium 14500 battery it works perfectly.

Solid and well built, even comes with a free battery. The light isn’t extremely bright but holds its own in a dim room. You’re never really going to be using this somewhere bright, I bought it to shine at my pet scorpion and it does the job

Not that powerful

A great little tool, perfect for using for cleaning, finding traces of things we can't see, and for curing UV resin (my main use for it).

It says it detects urine but it doesn't. If you shine it over urine, it does nothing so you need to use your eyes instead, which is pointless. I wanted to detect any areas I might have missed when cleaning the toilet. The light output is very poor and you have to hold it close to get it to work. It's great for finding fluff, if that's what you wany it for but again, it's fluff you can see with your eyes anyway so utterly pointless.

Bought this for checking forged bank notes as there are many more about recently. It's bright enough in strong sunlight to check the correct markings on notes to determine if they are genuine.
