The operating period for my needs have been less than 5 hours. My thermometer indicated close ranging of the thermostat (about 3 degrees f @ 200) and otherwise flawless operation.

We suggest, the magnetic stirrer hot plate should not work continuously for more than 16 hours at a low speed and 4 hours at a high speed and high temperatures. When working at high temperatures, please pay attention to control the time of heating plate, to prevent liquids from evaporating and drying up.

I'm not sure but I've tried using it to mix dyes and it worked fine.
