Very Informative
Interesting and informative read, tells you everything you need to know to successfully look after your little bundles of fur. Pictures could be better (bigger) though.

Gerbils need space
I am sure the author loves gerbils and means well, but according to gerbil societies in Sweden (where animal rights are more carefully considered than in the US), two gerbils need at least 26 - 27 gallons (100 liters) whereas this books suggests 10 gallons. Spinning wheels may harm a gerbil's sensitive spine and tail and should not be used if you care for your gerbil's long term health. I was also surprised by the photo section - I think it's unfair to wake up a bunch of sleepy gerbils just to get a good picture for example. If a gerbil is kept in a tiny cage (imagine the space they have in the wild!) it may evolve repetetive behaviours with no goal or function. Many American websites will tell you 10 gallons is fine, but then you're keeping you beloved pet in a prison no better than for lab animals. A big tank is easier to clean and you can furnish it in such a way that your gerbil will be entertained for hours. Here's an example of a great gerbil setup: http://migrated.ifokus.se/uploads/523/523908c1775117854cfcc97021c9a3a8/gerbiler-032.jpgAll the best to you and your pets!

Bad information- gerbils need more space
Bad information lots of gerbil with not enough space and not enough bedding. Gerbils need much more than a 10 gallon enclosure. They need at least -20 gallons =2 gerbils30 gallons =3 gerbils40 gallons =4 gerbils50 gallons =5 gerbilsGerbils should have at least 8 inches high of bedding so that they can burrow, dig and make tunnels.Gerbils need more space & stimulation!See the attached picture as an example - this is terrible advice. I'm sad for all the gerbils living in too small spaces after folk following the advice in this book.

Poor quality book, but good content
Good book but fell apart as soon as I started using it with my son, all the pages have completely fallen out and will need to be individually put into plastic pockets for us to be able to keep it for reference! Really not good enough to have been sold- even second-hand...

Good and Informative
Got this when considering getting gerbils, gives everything you need to know in an easy to read way with nice photos. My 9 and 6 year old sons also like it.
