This Plaque Detector Light is awkward to use. The guard is only held on with 2 small magnets. It slides around too easily when trying to use the unit. I haven't been able to figure out how to use it on the back of my upper teeth. I'll keep it, but I honestly can't recommend it to anyone else

I am including a photo taken through this plaque light. The camera doesn't show the plaque areas nearly as well as I can see them in person, but you can see a little redness between the teeth where the light has identified plaque. Although I like to be careful with UV lights and not use them too much, I still think this is a great tool to help you learn what you need to do better when cleaning teeth. What I don't like about this is that the "muzzle" that you put around the light so that it only shines on your mouth falls off very easily. It's also really easy, too easy, to accidentally turn on the light. When I was just looking at the light, I had the side with lights facing me, and my finger hit the power button. I got very bright UV lights shining into my eyes all of a sudden. I would give it five stars based on its usefulness. I would give it significantly fewer stars based on its design, both in regards to position of the power button and the fact that the light shield continually falls off. By the way, the light shield only goes on properly in one orientation, but it's not obvious which way it goes on until you've tried one way.

This does not work at all. I tried using after drinking coffee and eating breakfast, my teeth looked perfect which I know was not possible before brushing my teeth. If I could choose zero stars, I would.

Very motivating for the kids (and myself) to brush better

I recently tried the RR ORCRO Dental Plaque Detector Light and here’s what I think. First off, the light is super easy to use, and I love how it helps me find plaque that I might otherwise miss. You just shine the purple light on your teeth, and the areas with plaque glow red, showing you where you need to brush better. It's especially useful for kids who may not fully understand where they’re missing spots when brushing. The device is lightweight, rechargeable, and doesn’t require any messy dyes, making it a cleaner and more convenient option than traditional plaque display tablets. The mirror attachment is a nice touch and helps get a clear view of all areas in your mouth. However, the light sometimes doesn’t show thin plaque layers very well, and the "muzzle" attachment around the light can easily slip off, which is a bit annoying. All in all, it’s a great tool for improving brushing habits and making oral care a bit more fun, especially for kids. It’s simple, effective, and easy to store, but I wish the design was a bit sturdier.
