Good album and a bonus from the original 5* CD. Only some 20 minutes of Duane Allman in 60 minutes - but really good.

More great playing from the Layla boys. since discovered what a great solo artist Bobby Whitlock is.These boys can play like no one else.

I have a much older version of this that originally came out on audiotape(!)....just shows my age.This is probably the gutsiest,rawest and most emotional album I have ever heard.Indeed,a masterpiece.The jams and outtakes are well worth it for an understanding of how this remarkable album was created.I would not say that this is Clapton as never before or since,he has reached such heights at other times,but not so much on one album.He was fortunate to have such a great band and to be joined for most of the tracks by the great Duane Allman who duets with Eric and pushes him to his limits.This is no ordinary album,it is stratospheric.

I received the item with a defect on cd1, thirteenth song: Layla.Too highly the cost to send it back from Belgium, Amazon was very kindly and I received a new box.But: on the same song, exactly the same defect !! I didn't receive a third box. I can understand this, but there is obviously something wrong with the first cd. I wonder if there is any good item on the market out there.Dirk
