I had used two no name pump sprayers that broke down and I was in the market for a new one. I found this product from Petratools and decided to give it a try since it was still reasonably priced but a family owned American company. This is definitely a step up in build quality and performance from the cheap stuff I was using before, with solid capacity and spray coverage. Not only that, when I ran into a small issue with the pump sprayer and sent in an email, I received a customized email response addressing my question within a few minutes from a real human being, not an automated message redirecting me. I'd like to thank the support team at Petratools, especially Anne for the quick responses which took care of my issue. I'll look forward to using more of their products in the future.

This is a very well-built sprayer, which I used to apply sealant to the sidewalks around our house and a concrete pad. Because I was working in breezy and/or windy conditions, it was necessary to get the tip of the wand close to the surface. Would have rated this sprayer 5 stars if it had a longer or extendable wand that went out to 32" to 40" rather than the approximately 16" wand it has. The rather short wand resulted in a lot of bending over to get the sealant on the concrete so it wouldn't be carried away by the breeze or wind. As I already had an aching back, the short wand didn't help that situation. It would also be nice to have a padded sleeve on the shoulder strap. The wide mouth helps prevent spills. The capacity markings on the side of the sprayer are easy to read. The bleed valve is also nice to have as it helps prevent getting sprayed in the face when opening the sprayer after use. The shoulder strap length was pretty much ideal. Overall, I think it is a very good product and recommend it.

The last Chapin I bought literally exploded in my face while I pumped up the prime. The whole tube blew out and sprayed me with chemicals. I am too old and too girly to keep buying new sprayers because they break, clog, cumbersome, no pressure, exploding valve, etc. This Petratools model is so superior. My unsolicited genuine opinion? No scrimping on quality, great price for the superb value. Excellent use of textiles and designed with the weeds-spraying end user in mind. The prime last a long time compared to the other brands. The parts are a stronger, thicker plastic. The tank is ready to fill, no need to insert the tube, just twist on a couple things. The one cap that twists allows the spray to go from a nice stream (to point it through tall weeds to get to the ground) to a wide fan (for great ground coverage, low grass & weeds) I can adjust it while in use so no stopping to switch. Really a pleasure to use it, considering how much I hate having to keep spraying twice a year!. I did not really need to read all the assembly and operating directions, however, they are English only, very clear, well done. There is nothing Petratools missed when thinking of how to make the best user-satisfying sprayer.

My old battery sprayer was not working as it should and I needed to get a replacement ASAP for my plants. I took the plunge for this 2 Gal. sprayer which had many positive reviews and was offered at a reasonable price. As soon as I received it and assembled it, I noticed that the sprayer was missing a very useful feature from my battery one (a locking mechanism to enable nonstop spraying from the wand). Before getting further frustrated with this issue, I figured that there might be a solution. As I was looking around, I remembered having some 5 inch spring clamps laying around. Much to my surprise I clamped it to the sprayer's handle and Voilà it fits like a glove (I have attached pictures to show which type of spring clamp I used). This workaround made me so happy since I knew that if I manually held the handle in the wand with my index finger for prolonged periods, my finger would get tired or worse case, hurt like when you're using a hose sprayer without a built-in lock during summertime. The other possible solution to resolve this very issue would be to replace the included wand altogether for a different one. That would have made the investment in this sprayer negligible as it would make it that much more expensive and not a great bargain. Besides this little nitpick, the sprayer works as it should. The tip is very versatile as it can be adjusted from nice soft mist to a long distance straight stream. It's manually pumped and can reach its limit after 8 to 9.5 pumps. It's a bit tricky at first when screwing/unscrewing the pump piece from the unit as you need to concentrate on the inner ring piece to do so. If you go after the outer ring, you end up disassembling the whole piece apart which is really irritating. There are very detailed instructions in the container which is definite plus. The container itself along with the pump seem to be made of strong, durable plastic materials. The wand seems to have an average built since it's all plastic and there's no metal parts like my battery sprayer. The container for the spray clearly indicates the volume measurement mark (Liter/gallons) in plain, bold letters. When you remove the pump, you can easily pour your fluid into the hole without the need of a funnel. The sprayer seals the fluid inside the container in its entirety so there's no worry about leakage. The other great part is that it's a manual sprayer so you don't have to worry about attaching or charging a battery. You also get additional parts if you need to replace them in the near future from wear and tear. After a couple of tries, you get used to the functionability sprayer. I just hope that in the future, the wand comes at least with a locking mechanism for nonstop spraying. If that was the case, this sprayer would get a 5/5. As it stands, I give it a 4.5/5 with my workaround. Without this workaround, I would give it a 4/5. Even with this flaw, I still recommend this sprayer. It works, it's very well made for the price and best of all, provides great coverage.

A total class act company. Why? The 2g Petra sprayer that I received worked, but wouldn't retain pressure due to a missing o-ring on the bleed-off value. Before returning or visiting a hardware store for a suitable o-ring, I emailed the company and waited mere minutes (13 minutes to be exact) for Anne to write me back and assure me that they would take care of the issue. Indeed they did - several days later, I received a replacement, along with a postcard note apologizing for the inconvenience. But on to the actual device. Works great, does what it is supposed to do. The wide funnel type top makes it easy to fill without creating a mess, the bleed-off value is nice - vs getting sprayed in the face, the shoulder strap is a fantastic, vs lugging 15-20' of sprayer/solution and finally, the dual wide/narrow sprayer attachment increases the usefulness/flexibility of the device. A TOTAL winner.
