The grandsons ages 8 and 5 love this airplane kit, and so do I. The wood pieces are sturdy, the paint included is water based, acrylic, washable paint. The planes have but a few pieces to construct, and the 8 yr. old built his by himself, following the picture instructions which are very clear and easy to follow. They loved painting the planes and applying the decals, and were so proud of their finished products. The 8 yr. old has been playing with his planes all day long. He and his brother both love their planes. Kids can do this craft with very little to no parental guidance depending on their age, which is huge for busy parents! Our grandkids are 7 and 5 and they like building things. This set comes with 4 kits, each in a separate bag. Two of the kits come with minimal parts (3 and 6 pieces)which is perfect for the 5 year old to assemble - not too complicated. The other 2 sets require more effort as they come with 12 and 13 pieces - perfect for the 7 year old. Once they are put together, there’s one more activity - painting them! I think the kids had more fun doing that than assembling them! Nice engaging and fun inside activity when the weather doesn’t cooperate outdoors.

This is a fun set of airplane models. Depending on the age of the child, you may need an adult to help. Came with everything you need. My problem was the paint is not washable so for smaller kids make sure that they’re wearing something that it won’t matter if the paint gets on it because it does not come off.
