Far better than I expected.
I got this to treat some small field crops for insects. It was way too large an area to use a pump-up sprayer and too small (and too covered with crops) to have a commercial applicator spray it. I had looked at the Stihl products which do the same thing but the one which was most similar to this was $719 (apparently "on sale", regularly $749). Ouch, that's a lot of money to see if a solution will work. I found this one and gambled that, at $400 less, it would function well enough to get the job done. It very much does. I also expected that, being on Amazon, and being this inexpensive, it would be made in China. However, I have not found a "Made in xxxxx" marking on the unit, but the branding of the unit indicates the brand, Invatech, and "Italia". Italia is Italy. While that's not as conclusive as a clear marking of "Made in Italy", I believe, based on the markings and the quality of the build, that it was made in Italy. It was easy to assemble and came with some spare parts I didn't expect (like a spare pull-start unit). The unit fired up immediately the first time and I had no problems with the carburetor functioning as-is out of the box. Some reviews mention having to adjust the carburetor, and there's a tool in the box to do so. FWIW, I'm at about 1,000 feet elevation, and elevation can have an impact on carbureted engines. The only negative I can say about this aspect of the unit is that the carburetor adjustment tool comes wrapped separately and has a label indicating that opening the bag with the tool "will void the warranty". What the...you include a tool to adjust the unit then tell the user that if they use the tool they void their warranty? What a bunch of garbage...you could open the bag, use the tool, throw the tool and the bag in the trash, who's gonna know? The Draconian warning about the warranty when it's so obviously un-provable whether you opened the bag or not is offputting. Anyway, the unit has worked well. The shoulder straps were very padded and easy to adjust. The unit is easy to operate and has functioned well. The instructions indicate that filling the tank with no more than 2 gallons of fluid is recommended. They're not kidding. Each gallon of water weighs, approximately, 8 pounds and the unit can hold 4 gallons...that's roughly 32 pounds of water on top of the unit weight which I recall to be about 25 pounds. I'm 6' 1" and not exactly scrawny and 2 gallons in the unit was quite enough, thank you. They advise using an elevated platform to mount and dismount the unit from your back and that is highly recommended. I set it on the tailgate of my truck, but a sturdy table would work just fine. Just don't try to mount it on your back directly from the ground; that would be a bit much. Overall, I'm very pleased with the unit, especially at the price. The process of spraying the crops in this manner has worked for us. We weren't sure, so spending a lot less money on this versus the Stihl was a logical choice. That choice has worked out well.

Gests the job done but be prepared for a real physical workout
Does what I needed it for but it will wear you out. Use it to spray my fruit trees with fungcide and insecticide. It does a very good job in properly covering the trees up to about 12 feet. But it will go through the solution a lot faster the a hand sprayer. It it heavy to use and a bit tricky to get on your without getting hurt. Tore a shoulder muscle 2st time I used it. Still trying to recover 3 weeks later. Trick I now use is put the prayer on a folding work that is high enough that I can back into about waste high then slide the should straps on. That correct the other problem I ran into; accidentally stept on the trigger handle and broke the solution shutoff value because the blower hose and handle lay on the ground in front of the blower when you prep and start the sprayer when it is on the ground. We bought a 2nd one for our farm operation to control the fly population. Both are well made, come with some stair parts and work well for us. Just be prepared for a real physical workout and plan to use more spray solution than you would expect.

Impressed!! Excellent & Better than Expected & Better Then Tomahawk Impressed with the value and quality of this backpack fogger. Setup was straight forward, and it started up perfectly. It starts so easily, I can actually start it while itโs on my back. Works really well, but Iโd have to say their claim of 30โ vertical seems might be a little exaggerated or only in optimal conditions. However, it has no problems with 20-25โ. Very impressed with the quality of this machine for the price. Every part of it feels pretty skookum, with perhaps the exception of the shoulder straps. They have plenty of padding and are comfortable, but theyโre far too lite for commercial uses. For those considering the purchase, I also have a Tomahawk โTurbo boostedโ TDM14 which costs more. However despite the difference in price, the Invatech is a better machine. Theyโre very similar in design. However, there are differences that clearly show the Invatech as a better quality machine. First difference is the strap hardware. The tomahawk uses cheap clasps, whereas the hardware Invatech uses is much more skookum. There are various additional differences too, but the most apparent one was the ULV nozzles they use. The Invatech nozzle is much better quality. The tomahawโs standard nozzle is plastic junk compared to the Invatechโs nozzle. It doesnโt even spin evenly, and I donโt even think it has a proper bearing in it. The Invatech nozzle is premium. I note that Tomahawk sells an upgraded ULV nozzle for the TDM14 for $150. Expect this upgraded nozzle is similar to the one that comes standard with Invatech. (I'll upload a picture of both nozzles side by side in a couple of weeks when I go up to the cottage) I was really surprised by the difference in quality, despite the Invatech costing significantly less, which prompted me to write this review. Final Thought: Excellent quality machine - very impressed with the performance and build quality, and exceeded the competition. Pro tip - requires 50:1 fuel oil mixture, but only uses premium fuel with no ethanol, which can be corrosive and separate and form gell that can clog machines if left for extended periods of time (couple months). Also a good idea to use fuel stabilizers if issued infrequently. Lastly, if youโre going to use it commercially or for extended periods, Iโd recommend a 40:1 ratio or more.

I live on a small island surrounded by marsh and a lake. I don't think people know what a "lot of mosquitoes" is until they've been to my place in the summer. I load this wonderful piece of engineering with a mixture of 1oz mosquito killer to 1 gallon of water, put the setting on 1 and mist my whole property. It works so well that I will hardly see a mosquito for 2-3 weeks depending on how much rain we get. It's wonderful being able to walk outside without a cloud of mosquitoes chasing me of the dogs around. The machine itself is well engineered, built strong and I expect it to last for many, many years. You can tell it's made in Italy and not Chi-nuh. It takes mixed gas and will go through maybe 2 tanks of gas during the summer. I wish I had bought this unit years ago and not wasted my time with Mosquito magnets. While the Magnets do work they love to break down and propane isn't getting cheaper thanks to the globalists. Special thanks to Katherine from Customer Service for helping me out with my strap issue. It was rectified in a fast and friendly manner.

Assembly instructions were very clear, took a bit of time but not difficult at all. Used it with insecticide and worked great. Started very easily, spray was very good. Odd thing is it doesn't seem to "pump" from the tank but simply uses gravity instead, so if you hold the spray nozzle very high it doesn't work, you have to twist the nozzle upwards instead. Not really a problem but wasn't what I expected when trying to spray over hedges but pointing downwards. When loaded with liquid, overall can be a bit heavy to put on your back while trying to not touch the insecticide but was very comfortable when using. Overall great product so far.

I was in the market to add some more backpack foggers to my mosquito spraying business and wanted to try something different other than Stihl. After doing some research I found this and figured for the price I would give them a try as I could get 2 for the price of Stihl. First off they have decent weight to them not overly heavy even when filled with the spray product. Super easy to assemble took no more than 20mins. Yes some of the parts a very basic mainly the clamps to tighten everything. I like how they send all the tools to adjust everything not to mention some extra parts. I can say I don't think I would ever use the dry spray attachment, but at least the option is there. This sprayer started up on the 2nd pull and runs great not overly loud. I like how you can adjust how much volume is being sprayed and will takes some fine tuning to get the amount of volume you use. It throws a good distance more than enough I would ever need. Time will only tell on how the quality of these blowers are but the company seems to offer a decent warranty better than Stihl. Over all get one best bang for the buck on the market for a mister and can be used for just blowing leaves if you want. Only con I will say is the straps padding needs an improvement only downfall so far.

I used to own a thermal fogger which would alarm my neighbors as plumes of dense fog emitted from my yard. The Invatech mister has solved that problem and sped up the process as well! The unit is built well but I did notice that the gas cap's air vent was a bit on the small size, which restricted some fuel flow. A slight enlarging of the vent solved that problem. The pack is quick heavy and awkward to get mounted onto your back at first but once it's on and strapped down, it doesn't move around. The mist pattern is good and the engine has always started for me. It takes me roughly 30 min to mist the perimeter of 4.5 acres and knocks down mosquitos within minutes. The solution I'm using keeps them away for roughly 3 weeks before I need to re-spray. Overall I'm very pleased with the mister and certainly favor it over a thermal fogger.
