Lovely but delicate- very, very sad
This product is a beautiful statue in traditional colors, and the height would have been perfect for my garden. Unfortunately, it did not survive shipping intact. It had a gash down one foot plus an actual hole, a chipped hat, and deep scratches down one arm. It breaks my heart, but after examining the material I believe this product is too delicate to be used in zone 5 conditions near living plants and shrubs. I think the foot damage occurred in transit, but the hat and arm don't match any damage to the shipping container and may indicate that the gnome was injured by simply being packed. So sad..... I just love the design, and truly wish he would have worked out, but I can't see him making it outside near our huge juniper bush. Probably more scratches and dings every time the wind blew, and death if he were ever blown over. For a more protected situation like a deck or a patio, this product is gorgeous and I have no doubt he'd enhance such a setting. I hope my return can be repaired, and will soon find a loving home.
