Tiny but mighty!
My 5 year old attracts mosquitos but I barely get bit even when we're occupying the same space. I was skeptical about this product but tried it anyway since we were going on a trip to South East Asi. We stayed at a farming community and these worked very well. The smell wasn't that wrong either so my child wasn't bothered by it. FYI it's tiny but worth it. I used a small amount which was enough to cover her arms and legs.

Smells lovely
The tin is smaller than I expected, but a little goes a long way. It smells really nice, very herbal. Definitely keeps the mosquitos at bay.

Great for mild prevention. Should keep some stronger repellent too though
We bought it for our trip to Philippines in November. It is a nice preventive for casual use. Especially with its lovely scent and natural ingredients, I felt safe to use it on my kids every day at dusk when we were outside. It worked fine for a mild preventive. I didn't get bitten where I had it on. However, for mosquito-densed situations where you could already see a bunch flying around, I'd recommend to use a stronger repellent (we also carried Off travel packets with us). Murphy's repellent balm would save us from a few bites, but not all of them. My mosquito-magnet daughter still got bitten a few times. I wouldn't use Off on my kids every day though so this Murphy's repellent still served my purpose for mild prevention. Plus, the balm seems to have a smoothing effect that lessens the itchiness and swelling. I didn't have any bite mark at the end of the trip. Plus, its compact design is perfect for traveling. I'd use Murphy's again.

Smells great, works well
I love the way this smells. So, we've got a mosquito problem by my house and I am one of those people that they find especially tasty. If I got outside for 5 minutes without some kind of bug stuff on I get eaten alive. This stuff is GREAT. I hated using Off or the other heavy duty bug sprays if I was only popping out to the car. But if I went without anything see above: I'd get eaten alive. This stuff smells good, goes on light, and works almost as well as the stuff with Deet. I have gotten bug bites while wearing this but not often, and it's the difference between get 3-4 nasty, itchy, bug bites that take days to heal (no bug balm) and one small bite that hardly itches at all and gets better in less than a day (with bug balm). For everyday wear, I definitely recommend this.

Worked ok. Lid is a nightmare
I took this to Wyoming during peak mosquito season. I ended up also buying some DEET-containing mosquito repellant spray later. Having worn each one throughout the trip, I think this one worked surprisingly well for a DEET-free repellant, however, the protection didn’t last as long as the DEET repellant, and I really had to coat all of my skin with this stuff, or else the exposed patches would be bitten, and that was incredibly tedious. This would still probably be a five-star product in my book if not for the lid. After a few uses it started getting stuck badly. I’ve had to pry it off with a screwdriver the last few times I’ve used it, and now it’s not coming off at all anymore. :(

This has given me a good nights sleep.
Every night, mosquitos will buzz around my eareeeEEEEEEEEeeeeeWaking me up in mid night.I use this and place a bit around my ears, hands, elbows and anyplace they can get me. They don't even touch me when I put this stuff on.This is a god send and I love it. This was acquired around July and hear it is Nov and it's almost gone. But it has done it's job very well. The smell is NOT bad either. A fresh scent of lemon and no buzzing mosquitos around my person while sleeping.

Brought this for the John Muir Trail. It was completely ineffective.
The media could not be loaded. Let me preface this by stating that I am the guy in the group that bugs swarm. There are folks that mosquitoes seem to leave alone, folks that get some bites, and then folks that always seem to have a small buzzing cloud around them. I am the last one on that list. I also depended on this in the very moist, recently covered in snow melt, and warm High Sierra’s during the most mosquito dense time of the year.I don’t live in an area with mosquitoes and foolishly assumed Murphy's Naturals Mosquito Repellent Balm would work. It came in a flat, secure, and very easy to open tin. It also applies easily and smelled nice. I just finished the John Muir Trail in July and Murphy's Naturals Mosquito Repellent Balm did not work. Mosquitos would swarm to my legs, I would apply the balm, and mosquitos would swarm to my legs still. There were two occasions that mosquitos actually landed in the repellant itself. It was so bad and I just kept using the stuff hoping that it would work. Every time disappointed that it didn’t. I carried this stuff for 100 miles until I got to a resupply with a trash can, threw it away, and bought a way too heavy can of deet.Maybe if you’re not the person bugs swarm, and/or you’re not in a particularly bad mosquito area it works well enough.

Effective, smells nice and feels good on my sensitive skin.
I love this as do my very choosy friends. It’s great to find something made of ingredients that are non toxic and of such high quality. I will be buying more.
