Chincoteague Seafood Bisque Sampler Crate, 4.5-Pound

This review is based solely on the lobster bisque. I've tasted many of the pre-made lobster bisques and this one is about middle of the road. Somewhat watery with tiny "lobster bits". Has very strong lobster/crab taste which I happen to like but I could see some people not liking it. I only had milk on hand to mix in but I could see it coming out a lot better with a heavy cream.

Better when you mix with cooking sherry or sweet vermouth and 1/2 & 1/2

I made all 3 varieties with heavy cream to give them a good chance. The clam and shrimp bisques were rich but relatively tasteless. Only the lobster bisque had a good flavor but even that was weak. First off, there should not be chunks of anything in a bisque. Those looking for chunks need a chowder or stew. The clam bisque has square potatoes in it so that one is a chowder in my book. The shrimp bisque has a few whole tiny shrimp in it but the real turnoff is they are almost black (see photo). They look like crickets to me and I know they are not but any cooked shrimp I've ever seen were pink. Why did they turn black? No, these three won't be on my reorder list.

This trio is great for the land-locked seafood lover. The crated set was an attractive and welome gift for my husband; he grew up in an Atlantic shore town and pronounced these all, "Delicious."

little pricy

I had wanted to try these bisques for some time & when I got a gift card I went for it. I thought all these three different flavors would be good but they all tasted the same to me. No recommendations here

good stuff

Very bland, all taste the same, pretty bad, actually. Barely edible. Will probably just chuck any I have left over.
