A250 2 way small package, but don't let them fool you
Decided after 20 + years without a dedicated system for listening to my music collection it was time. Purchased a Harman Kardon AVR 1510 (75 watts per CH) which by the way sounds Excellent, NAD C 516BEE CD player, and pulled out my vintage Realistic LAB 440 direct drive turntable (Audio Technica AT1100E Cartridge) to get back into my vinyl collection. So the only thing that was missing was speakers. Did over a month of research and saw these Boston Acoustics with the black gloss finish. They go nicely with my current home theater system even though they are not hooked in, just for listening to music. A little history, back in the day I owned Boston Acoustics A100's and the A200's which were excellent speakers and much larger than the A250's. I also owned JBL's but always liked the sound of the Boston's. So I pulled the trigger on these and I have to say so far I have not been disappointed They seem to sound better every time I listen to them, nice even sound on vinyl and CD's. To be honest the louder you crank them the better they sound. I have read reviews that have stated that speakers of this size have no base, well I'm not sure how much base is enough but when I crank these I can feel it. The room I listen in is 16x20 wish and these can fill that space no problem. I have only cranked the Harman up to about 1/2 or less and all I can say is wow !!. If you want a pair of small unobtrusive speakers for your listening pleasure that can crank these may be a good choice for you.Update 12/03/15...These are still cranking, they sound better than they did when I first bought them. No issues at all.Update 3/5/20... Have added a OSD PS88 sub to the mix, added my vintage Harman Kardon PM655 integrated amp with no bass or treble enhancements and it kicks butt. I enjoy listening to this setup very much. My main system downstairs has a pair of Canton Crono's with over double the watts in amp power which sounds awesome I listen to mostly blues, rock and enjoy both systems. I stream, vinyl, CD's and OMG !!! Cassettes remember those 😂

The unit arrived here in great condition; but has to be set up as directed by all units described;and have a better than beginners subwoofer. It’s not a guitar cabinet;but I’d like to say these speakers have home theatre growel!!
