Limited Edition Px7 S2e Over-Ear Headphones, Ruby Red

I purchased these for a few of reasons: 1) I wanted them for an overseas flight to help drown out all the yammering of inconsiderate people who don't understand that not everyone wants to hear their conversation OR the Tik Tok videos they are watching. 2) I wanted a good quality audio experience as I really like to listen to masterful music and even with noise cancelling earbuds, that is a challenge. 3) I wanted a really good pair of headphones that did not cost a small fortune. I was familiar with Bowers & Wilkins from my time in Europe with the military. At the time, they were on the same par (for the most part) with Bang & Olufsen but at a slightly more pocket friendly price. When these were available on Prime Days for a significant price reduction, I started to do some research (I use that term loosely because I was not searching for the cure for cancer). I had to double and triple check the product to make sure it was the S2e because while the original Px7 had "good" reviews, the S2e had GREAT reviews. It seems Bowers & Wilkins addressed all the faults of the previous generation in the S2e. Many reviewers were baffled by the fact that the S2e came out less than a year after its predecessor. However, being familiar with Bowers & Wilkins that did not suprise me because they have a reputation for listening to feedback and improving their products based on that feedback. I ended up snatching up a pair and I am very glad I did. The sound of these headphones are as good as any I have tried on my head but ended up not purchasing because of their price. The tones are warm and well defined. You can really hear the treble, mid, and bass without any straining to pick them out. The ANC feature really helps with this as it keeps the ambient noise from ruining the listening experience. I cannot speak to whether these will address my first issue until after my flight (I will post an update when I get back), but so far these are by far my favorite pair of headphones to listen to music with. Now, please understand, I would NEVER use these for things like working out, or listening to music while driving, etc. BUT I will use them in a noisy office environment, or traveling, or listening to music while my family enjoys whatever they are watching on television (so as not to be rude to them). I do HIGHLY recommend these. If you are on the fence, just pull the trigger, they are GREAT headphones. Not everything is rosey. Here are the few concerns I have: There is really only on/off for the ANC feature. Not a huge deal but might be annoying for some. The audio quality of the mic is just, meh. This is probably because there is no boom mic. Again, only an issue if you plan on using these for all your day-to-day video calls. The good: The fit is GREAT! The headphones pads are soft and pillowy. The pressure it exerts to stay on your head is very minimal (I wear glasses and may headphone have such pressure they push my glasses into my temple and give me a head ache - these do not). The sound quality is impressive to say the least. Tha app is nice but I would like to see integration with more streamling / podcast services.

Ok. It was Black Friday / Syber Monday 2024 and I figured why not drop some money and help everyone else figure out which headphones are the best. I did not test anything $600 or more. These headphones were mid level, where most buyers are. With incredibly pricing, some of these were downright a steal! I am going to break them down into a few categories (Sound Quality, price value, bluetooth app Connection, comfort, style) and give you the results on each category. I could not test longevity since I just got them all, so I will leave that for other reviewers. The headphones I tested were the: Beats Studio Pro X Sony WH-1000XM5 Technics Wireless Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S2e Bose QuietComfort Ultra The overall winner for those who don't want to read why is............. Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S2e. Second Place...... Technics Sound Quality Winner: Bowers and Wilkins PX7S2e Runner Up: Technics Wireless Comments: This one was hard to pick a winner. Bowers and Technics were dang near neck and neck. You can't go wrong with either. I had to go back and forth 10X to finally figure it out with all the songs I played. Some songs, Technics was better, some Bowers better. What it came down to was the immersion of sound. I felt Technics had the better highs and crisp voice sounds so if you are going for vocals, I would say Technics, but Bowers had a better feeling of overall broad balance of sound, lows and immersion. The Bose and Sony were 3rd and 4th. Beats last. Beats are great headphones, but they just didn't have the stable / predictable sound that Bose and Sony had. Price Value Beats Studio Pro X ($159) Sony WH-1000XM5 ($298) Technics Wireless ($172) Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S2e ($249) Bose QuietComfort Ultra ($329) Winner: Technics Wireless Runner Up: Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S2e Comments: For $172 the technics are hands down the best value / bargain of any headphone I have ever had. I have heard they have issues breaking on the hinge, so I can't comment on longevity, but for sound quality and price, there is nothing close to the Technics. I got them on sale, so not sure if they are going to be that price forever. My review on this would change if the price went back up. Bowers and Wilkins at $249 was unreal for the winning headphone. What a great deal. Beats are nice gifts, but nothing I would own now after reviewing these others. Sony was way overprices. Bose, utter disappointment for their pricing. Bose is a solid 8 across the board but never a 10. App Winner: Technics Wireless Runner Up: Bose QuietComfort Ultra Comments: I felt the Technics were the best overall app. Super easy for the normal user. Lots of easy sound options to choose from like bass+, vocal, treble+, dynamic. No weird screens. Just easy. I felt Bowers really dropped the ball on the app here and their app seemed a bit complicated with no pre settings to choose from. This was a bummer. Bose is always a steady 8, but never a 10. Good app, but not incredible. Just good and dependable. Sony, meh. they should change their name to always over complicate everything, but if you get it figured out they rock. Beats did a decent job.. Nothing I will remember. Bluetooth Connection Winner: All of them. I had zero issues with any, so they all get at least one spot on the winner podium. Comfort Winner: Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S2e Runner Up: Bose Comments: Bowers felt the best for sure. They just fit awesome. No doubt about it. Clearly the winner. Bose is a distant second. Beats felt really good actually so it took 3rd place. Technics is fourth but a bit stiff. Not quite as comfortable as the others. Sony was shallow so your ears hit the speaker cloth, which dropped to last place. If not for that, Sony would be number 3. Style Winner: Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S2e Runner Up: Beats Comments: Bowers hands down looks and feels like quality. Winner for sure. Beats colors are rad and they look amazing. Everyone compliments beats colors so they take runner up. Technics looks kind of cheap but they are not and this frustrates me as they have such a great brand, why cheapen them with such a cheap looking stainless design. Everyone loves the new flat colors and quality builds, not a headphone that looks like an outdated stainless steel refrigerator from the 2010 era. Final thoughts. Overall, Bowers is the best overall headphone, but dang, Technics is really an audio guys headphone if you want to hear certain highs and distant lows that should be your choice. Bose is a 8 out of 10 on everything, never a winner on anything. Sony was a disappointment to be honest. Beats is fine for style but lacking in the areas that matter the most. Long live Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S2e this time around. Good job.

First pair of BW headphones. I wouldn't say I'm a full-fledged audiophile but close, a very avid music listener and like all kind of genres from rap to country, classic rock to jazz to classical and Opera. Let's just say, I DO know good sound when I hear it without spending $1,000 on a pair of headphones. The sound is very well balanced, slightly boosted on the bass end but definitely not overbearing the mids and top end makes up for- all of the sound is very clear at any volume. The bass is tight not muddied whatsoever even at louder volumes, the high end I think is just right and not overbearing and comfortable to listen to for hours without any kind of sound fatigue. Sound stage is wider than some other headphones I listen to, but not as wide as an open back headphone but plenty to satisfy. The headphones have some space to let some air out almost like a semi open back but just short of that I believe. Probably is why the sound stage is improved when listening on these. Instruments are properly placed on the stage as well. I compared them to my son's Airpod Max, Sony xm3&4 and I like the sound of these much better imo. Construction is of high quality a nice weight and very comfortable for listening for hours with no fatigue from the weight or from the sound. I'm using a Samsung Ultra to play my music with Bluetooth and corded, as I prefer corded slightly better sound to me. The phone drives the headphones very well, though I do use a small dongle dac/amp which does clear up the sound to my liking and adds a boost of volume as well. I paired with the IFi Go Link for corded phone listening. When using Bluetooth mode, they pair very easily with no issues and I'm able to use it walking all around the house and outside in the yard and have had no issues with loss of sound or signal. Battery seems to last a good 6-8 hours with regular play (though I have not ran the battery completely discharged yet). From a near dead charge to full charge takes about 4-6 hours, never really timed it but takes a minute since using a fast charger does not speed up charging. Excellent build quality and sound quality for the price! I really like the fact that removing the headphones pauses the music, and then resumes play when you put them back on, handy little feature. If you're looking for a high quality, great pair of headphones with excellent sound for your music I highly recommend these!

I bought the B&W Px7-2Se headphones (HP) as well as a pair of the Sony WHXM1000M5. The Sony’s are going back only because the ear cups are really cheap feeling and the overall appearance of the unit is (IMO) lacking. Now - for the Bowers and Wilkins - these boys are alleged to be the real deal at their price point (and even a bit past there). After several days of listening, fooling around with app controls and 3rd party IQs on a Samsung S22 Ultra, these HPs went back to the seller. Here’s my impressions: Design/Appearance/Comfort: Premium looking and feel all around. I purchased the Forest Green unit - the color is a subdued green - very nice. Earcup friction sliders work well and stayed in place no problem. Very appealing to look at. Clamping pressure was tight at first but is loosening up a bit - I assume they will continue to loosen a bit more which will result is a really comfortable fit, good for hours of usage. Ear cup design shows great detail and is visually catching. Connectivity - This is where the train comes off the tracks - total train wreck! Connectivity on this pair was worse than terrible - Bluetooth dropped out al the time. After a few days of having to re-connect numerous times during listening sessions, I gave up. I don't care how good these sound, and they were really, really good - if the BT doesn't work, you won't be listening to anything. Absolute deal breaker! So, they went back. Controls: Switches for 99% of all controls (BT connect, volume, on/off, play, stop, skip, back) are on the right ear cup and are responsive. After a few uses, your fingers will be able to discern one from the other. ANC is controlled from push button on the left ear cup. App - the app is not overly complicated to navigate and provides for basic control of functionality. I would like to have a better EQ set up - currently only Bass and Treble controls are available. Should be an easy fix for B&W to implement at no cost to the consumer. Also, the app has other controls, including for Wear Detection and ANC. I have not tried any of the recommended streaming services - I use Sirius and LiveOne (Slacker) and am fully satisfied with their sound. Wear detection function is spotty and doesn’t always work. I am waiting to hear from B&W to see if there is a fix planned for this - not a deal breaker for me - I just use the button on the right cup to pause or remove the HP completely. Sound - Fantastic sound! - Using the app and a 3rd party Android EQ, I have found that sweet spot for my musical taste. Bass can be made to rattle your brainer provide a calming resonance or anywhere in between. Same for the treble - adjust it to your taste - very clear and crisp. Staging and imaging are wonderful. The sound is very full with tons of presence, wrapping your head with sound. The separation is really cool - I've heard nuances in my music never heard before. I will say there is a world of difference in listening to music on a MacBook Air vs. my Samsung phone - phone is 100x better. Sound from the Mac is way off - muddy and somewhat hollow. The EQ that comes with the Mac only works on Apple Music, so if you are a primary consumer of music on Mac, consider a 3rd party EQ app. Regarding ANC - it works pretty well and has several settings on the app and can also be turned off and on using the button on the left ear cup. FYI - the music I used to test all the sound parameters included, Frampton, Tool, Steely Dan, Rage Against the Machine, Yes, Translator, Cinderella, Ratt, Edgar Winter, and various light jazz and classical /orchestra selections chosen at random. Update After 3 Weeks Usage of Replacement Pair: I am 95% recommending these right now. Many internet postings on connectivity issues and wear protection being spotty The BT issue caused me to send back the 1st pair. Otherwise, eye catching design, good comfort and the best sound. Nice case also! I sent this pair back and ordered another of the same - hoping the BT issue and wear detection were one-off problems. I now have the 2nd pair and the BT issue only happened 2 or 3 times over the last few weeks - not enough for me to send them back again and go buy the Focal Bathsys - several hundred $$$ more. Again - these sound absolutely terrific. So - bottom line - go buy these if you have the money. If you really have money, buy them or if you really have more money - buy the Focal. If you have less money - buy the Sony SM1000M5, with the understanding that the sound is really good but the build quality (ear cups) are a deal breaker if aesthetics really matter.

Read on and you'll understand why I reviewed it this way.... My goal was to find the best sounding wireless headphones that were fairly priced after watching 50 hours of video reviews. With a Prime Day price tag around $250 these Momentum 4's were well worth the purchase. I'm going to say that they just aren't gong to work for me because I also purchased a pair of Focal Bathy's ($699), and a pair of Bower's and Wilkin's Px7S2e in the awesome color Blue at ($249) to compare them with. The Momentum 4's functionality is great but they just sound a bit thick, and less refined. This after listening to the others. And they are pretty non from a fashion perspective which I viewed personally as a plus. They are great if you have larger ears! Moving onto the others. After purchasing the Focal Bathy's I quickly came to realize that they were not the headphones that I was going to walk around town wearing. They are on the larger side, and present with some flashiness. That aside though, they are absolutely awesome sounding and BLOW AWAY the Momentum 4's. So if that's the comparison you're looking for, then there is your answer. I am keeping them as my "reference" wireless headphones. And with the cabled DAC connectivity it's a no brainer! Not even a second thought. Well maybe. For just a moment that happened after I listened to the Px7S2e cans and thought about the price difference. They, the Px7S2e headphones are absolutely pleasurable to listen to. The sound stage is remarkable, really really. And at ($249) on Prime Day they were certainly the best electronics purchase that I had made in years. I also think that they be worth it at full price. Smaller than both the others and with a build quality and design that warrants the full price. Also worth noting is that I did listen to the Bose UC's and I am intrigued by the spacial audio feature and the overall, well almost weightlessness of the headphones. They just weren't priced well enough for me to justify purchasing them and aside from their dominance in the noise cancellation department they just review as "pretty good" on sound quality. I would say to me they sounded on par with the Momentum 4's. I don't get too caught up in the "app" features as they can drastically improve with one update. I will mention that none had me shaking my head in either direction. And lastly, this journey all started with a pair of refurbished AirPods Max headphones. It made sense since I am in the Apple ecosystem. However I was very surprised at how uncomfortable they were as soon as I put them on my head. I was like wow, really. I felt as though they were going to dent my big head. LOL. I did like the "crown control dial" quite a bit I have to say. If you're shopping for wireless headphones and you stayed with me here you should just keep in mind that deciding on speakers and headphones is so very subjective from a sound perspective. We all hear a bit differently. You'll know it when you put "THE" pair on, raise your eyebrows, and say WOW. Fashion statements are a whole other sub topic. AND if you're thinking what about the Sony XM5's, all I'm going to say is that I am turned off by the over functionality of the Sony apps. From their cameras to their headphones and beyond. The end.

A 3-star rating may seem low, but I’m honestly torn. Overall, I’m happy with this purchase and they do exactly what I needed them to do. I was looking for a pair of over-ear headphones for studying, and these fit the bill well—great for signaling that I’m working and don’t want to be interrupted. The Bluetooth connection is solid, the sound quality is very good, and the app setup was quick and intuitive. Battery life is excellent, the controls are fairly easy to use, and the color is aesthetically pleasing. I also really like the design and the case they come with. That said, here’s why I can’t give them 5 stars: The noise canceling is noticeably weaker than expected. My wife’s AirPods have significantly better and more advanced noise-canceling capabilities. Maybe this comes down to over-ear vs. in-ear design, but these don’t block out enough ambient noise for louder environments or plane travel, which limits when I reach for them. They’re quite bulky. While most over-ear headphones are, the size affects portability and makes them less convenient for certain days or activities. If you’re an audiophile looking for solid sound quality and design, these are likely a good fit. However, if you’re looking for Apple-level noise canceling, these probably aren’t for you—coming from an Android user who generally dislikes Apple products. It’s disappointing that I’d have to turn to AirPods for a truly effective noise-canceling experience over these.

I have owned these for well over a year now and don't regret a penny of the full price I paid. I purchased them mostly because I like the way they looked to be honest but now that I have been using them for over a year, I have a much greater appreciation for them on every level. I'm not hard to please when in comes to headphones. I have multiple other sets (gaming, in ear monitors, cheaper sets for work, etc.) that do the job just fine and sound just fine to me but over time I have come to recognize the quality of the sound delivered by these is exceptional. It took me a while to realize this because I have tinnitus and always kind of assumed I would never be able to appreciate high level audio. These have thankfully proven that assumption to be incorrect. I cannot discern the difference of hi-res and non hi-res sources as much as I have tried. But now that I have been paying closer attention, I can appreciate the difference in quality of the sound delivered by these no matter the source. When I first started using them, I EQ'd them quite ridiculously but I have now found that if I just trust them, the result is quite amazing. I love the way that the lowest bass notes are present but not punched up like in many other consumer headphones. And believe me, I love bass but the bass on these is sublime. The mids, especially voice, have a timbre to them (I'm just learning audio speak :) ) to them that can be heavenly. I appreciate it more and more all the time and am constantly surprised when noticing new sounds and detail I hadn't noticed before. The separation of voice and instruments are clear and noticeable even to my damaged eardrums. The style and build and appearance is luxury. Especially at the price. I look forward to putting them on. They hang just perfectly on my head. The so-called clamping force combined with the weight feels just right. I have read that the ANC is not best in class but it is no slouch either. It does the job for me just fine. I often work from home and the ANC cut's out the leaf blowers next door no problem. That's plenty good enough for me.

I picked up the Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S2e shortly after they launched at $399, and they’ve proven to be one of the best headphone purchases I’ve made. Sound (5/5): Easily the standout feature. Out of the 15–20 ANC headphones I’ve owned, these might be the best sounding. They deliver a clean, detailed, and natural sound that makes both music and spoken audio fun to listen to, without the bass bloat of my Sony XM5 and XM6. Compared directly with my Apple AirPods Max, I’d still give the Max a slight edge as the better overall headphone, but the Px7 S2e wins for sound quality alone. ANC (4.5/5): The noise cancelation is excellent and handles most environments well, though not quite at Sony WH-1000XM5 and XM6 levels. Ambient Mode (3.5/5): This is one of the weaker points. Passthrough works, but it doesn’t feel as natural or transparent as Apple’s or Sony’s. Fit & Comfort (4/5): Very comfortable for long sessions. While the Sony XM5 and Dyson OnTrac are more comfortable on my head, the Px7 S2e still perform well here. I can wear these for long listening sessions just fine. Build (5/5): This is where you see and feel your money's worth. The design feels premium and durable, with no compromises in materials or construction. The buttons feel solid, the sliders move with enough friction to stay put, and the pads don't have that cheap pleather sticky feel that a few others in this price range tend to have. Controls & Features (5/5): Responsive controls, reliable Bluetooth connection, and simple (but decent) app support. Everything just works. Accessories (5/5): Comes with a traditional, hard-sided case and quality cables; better than what some of its competitors include—looking at you, Apple. Value (4/5): At $399, they’re priced firmly in premium territory, but the combination of sound quality, build, and high end design justifies it in my opinion. Overall: Compared with other headphones in this class, the Px7 S2e earns an A+ from me. While they’re not perfect in every category, they hit the right balance of sound, comfort, and build quality. If audio quality is your top priority in an ANC headphone, these should be at the very top of your list.

These headphones exceeded my expectations! They’re incredibly comfortable to wear for long periods without tiring the ears and are surprisingly lightweight. The bass is deep and powerful, the noise cancellation works beautifully, and the overall sound quality is excellent. Highly recommended for music lovers and anyone who values comfort and performance.

So pleased I discovered these! Exceeded my high expectations. Excellent fit and finish, awesome sound. Coming from Bose and was slightly concerned as reviews had suggested these had less low end bass compared to the Bose. Not the case. I find myself preferring 'commercial' sound like Bose and find audiophile stuff quite flat. Also don't want 50 settings for sound or the requirement to dial it in just to use the product. These are exceptional straight out of the box. You can still adjust bass and treble in the app should you want to. The main reason I chose these over Sony, Bose, Sonos etc was the USB-C charging and passthrough for wired lossless playback. This includes lossless playback from Apple devices (haven't tested others but I'm sure if Apple works they would as well). Only caveat is they need to be powered on. Power draw appears minimal (connect to USB after powering on). Buttons for volume and multifunction still work. Mic doesn't appear to work. Transparency and noise cancellation are more than adequate, but are not best in class. However, colors are and a welcome change to everything else on the market. My choice (green) is mature and understated, looks and feels very premium. Very comfortable, but haven't tested extended use yet. Weight is between Bose QC and Apple AirPods Max. One niggle is the included USB-C to USB-C cable came with discoloration/staining on the ends - pictured. Also comes with 3.5mm to USB-C which was not discolored. Works fine (cable is otherwise a decent quality soft plastic) but a bit disappointing from a QA/QC perspective.

Le Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S2e sono un vero e proprio capolavoro sonoro che ridefinisce lo standard delle cuffie wireless di fascia alta. Dal punto di vista audio, l'evoluzione della "e" (che sta per evolved) si sente tutta: il suono è incredibilmente dettagliato, con bassi profondi ma sempre controllati e una separazione degli strumenti che fa sembrare di essere seduti in prima fila a un concerto. La qualità costruttiva è superba, con materiali premium, inserti in tessuto e un'imbottitura in memory foam che le rende comodissime da indossare anche per molte ore consecutive senza stancare. Anche la cancellazione attiva del rumore è stata nettamente migliorata rispetto al passato, riuscendo a isolare perfettamente dai rumori del traffico o dell'ufficio senza però alterare la naturalezza della musica. L'autonomia è eccellente e copre tranquillamente intere giornate di utilizzo, mentre i controlli fisici sui padiglioni sono precisi e molto più affidabili dei classici comandi touch. Se cercate un paio di cuffie che non scendano a compromessi tra eleganza stilistica e fedeltà acustica, queste Px7 S2e valgono ogni singolo centesimo speso. Consigliatissime!

Estuve durante un par de semanas revisando que opciones de audífonos comprar para reemplazar mis viejos Bose Q Comfort 35 y me encontré con esta versión de audífonos a un precio en oferta que no pude resistir elegirlos . A una semana de uso puedo confirmar que Su calidad es increíble y estéticamente se ven muy bien, el sonido es nítido y potente y su app súper fácil de usar. El peso de los cascos es adecuado y las almohadillas son cómodas, incluso en usó de varias horas. Por el rango de los 300 USD es una opción que les recomiendo sobre sus competidores
