Maxpower561547B 2 Blade Set for 42 in. Cut MTD, Cub Cadet, Troy-Bilt Mowers Replaces OEM no. 759-3830, 742-3033 and 742-04101

I have been searching for a while for a high quality blade replacement for my cub cadet LT1042 42" mower. I do not like to mulch and want my clippings to self bag. I have been through several different brands over the years and recently came across these. These are thicker and wider than most replacement blades you can purchase off the shelf at the big box stores. They have a very prominent turn up on the ends for ejecting the clippings into the grass chute.I have mowed a couple of times with the blades and they do an excellent job with cutting and bagging grass clippings of approx 2-3" length even when slightly damp. I did not have it clog the chute and back at all which was a welcome relief. I have a couple of lawns and one in particular is 9000 sq ft and have been able to mow full deck width with no issues.I am going to purchase a back up set of blades for when these need to be sharpened.

I think the issue is that my 2000 Cubby 2176 must have a different deck from the later models. On the same deck settings as the factory blades, the MaxPower blades dig into the lawn and hit every high spot. I changed height settings and removed the deck to ensure I did not have the blades on upside down. I recently removed the blades and installed Cub Cadet blades and these have no issues. Matching both sets of blades together do not reveal a difference. Strange. It took me over a month to finally give up and order factory blades.

make sure you know for sure the type of blade center- the center hole is ether a "star like" hole or a round hole. It will make a difference. Blades are for mulching and cutting grass. I had to remove the deck from my Cub Cadet to get off the old blades and install the new ones. Check the torque spec for the nuts.

I'd gladly pay more for blades next time. The sharpened portions on both blades are very rough ground. They're sharp enough to knock down grass but when it's time to resharpen, these will be a huge hassle. They aren't uniformly serrated or smooth - just random rough ground, with wavy/irregular edges that will require lots of effort to resharpen. I'll probably throw them away and buy OEM next time.

Replace the Gator blades on my Cub 2155 tractor with these. The Gator blades were good but have very little lift and during the fall I use the bagger to pick up the leaves. These fit perfectly and were already balanced and sharpened. Lift is pretty good as I only stopped once to clear the chute and that was after it filled up and packed the chute.

They fit like original blades and actually quieted the deck down substantially. Old blades were shot and sounded like a jet when the PTO was engaged. These barely make and sound over the tractor running. And Made in USA! Worth every cent. These are great OEM replacement blades.

This was the first time I changed the blades on my Cub Cadet XT 1 tractor with a LT 42 mower deck so I wasn't aware that the blade had a star pattern instead if the round one on these blades until I removed the old blades. I didn't see the FINE PRINT stating that they are not returnable even though they are a "preferred shipper" as far as Amazon is concerned.NON RETURNABLE SHOULD BE IN LARGE PRINT ON THE SALES PAGE!!!!!

This product is not as described! The company will not allow me to return it. I will never do business with this company again! Worst product ever!
