Martin UniversalMijello Peel Purpose Palette, Multi-Colour, 35.81 x 27.69 x 2.54 cm

I bought this palette to use with gouache since rewetting them once dried is time consuming, hard on brushes and frequently unsatisfactory leading to a gritty texture. As soon as I received this I laid out my usual array of colours, mixed up a couple of shades of grey in the central area, which didn't bead up, and sealed the lid on to see what happened. More than 48 hours later they have not dried out at all and they are still moist and workable, including the mixes that were spread out quite thinly.I am really pleased and impressed since I hadn't added any water to the paints and think that this is an excellent bit of kit that was worth every penny. Once one tots up the cost of having to lay out fresh paint every time and the irritation of losing mixes this is likely to pay for itself quite quickly. (I have tried wrapping small palettes in cling film or sealing them in food boxes with a damp sponge and this palette is far more effective at keeping the paint moist and workable than any of these methods.)(Update:- One month after filling this palette, all the paint is still moist and shows no sign of drying out or skinning over. I am usually sceptical about how well products work but this is amazing and outperforms any other method of keeping paint moist I have tried.)You do have to press down firmly around the rim a couple of times to ensure the lid is completely sealed. I haven't checked out the claims that dried acrylics peel off it as I prefer a bigger traditional palette that I can hold for using with them. But this works really well for what I want it for, exceeding my expectations, and I am delighted with it.
