I have used a couple of other cheaper clippers but they have all ended up in the recycling as they go blunt quickly. With this one you can replace or sharpen the blades when they dull. That will be some time in the future as the blades are clearly superior and much sharper than all the cheap ,(and not so cheap) unknown brands. I find them easy to use. The cord doesn't really get in the way like I expected. The comb selection should allow for a variety of styles, not that I'll be making much use of them except to use a shorter one for my beard. No need for a separate beard trimmer for a straight forward beard, but these are quite large and you would struggle to do any styling. I do have a separate beard trimmer as I struggle to trim my moustache with this. Being much smaller and lighter the beard trimmer is much better for travel and if you buy one of the Remington Panasonic ones with combs, they will also do for a quick trim of your hair. I only do that when on hols as the extra work will greatly shorten the life of my beard trimmer. The proper hair clipper is also much quicker at cutting my hair. Overall I think it is great value for money and I regret wasting money on the cheaper ones.

Really like the solid feel of these clippers. I tend to use them rarely to cut my son's hair, and got fed up of cordless ones having low power. I was always using them plugged in anyway! These clippers are very well made, and have an unbelievably satisfying clunk when they are switched on and off. These feel like a professional item and worth paying a little more for. I expect they will last for decades.

The Wahl Fade Pro clippers have improved my home haircuts! The lever arm and blades are fantastic for achieving a precise fade. However, the casing feels a bit weak – it broke after a small drop, though they’re still usable. Great clippers overall; just wish the casing was sturdier.

Ordered due to the good reviews. First time of using the clippers seemed fine and then they just stopped working. They still made a noise but the blades were not moving. Turned off, checked the plug etc which was all fine, the clippers then came on but then stopped again. A few of the guards were bent as well, one of which I would of definitely used. Sent for a replacement as I'm hoping this was just a dodgy one. Had the replacement since Feb and the same thing happened. Not straight away, I would say after 3 uses. Unfortunately missed the return window. I would not recommend this for afro hair.

Good heavy duty clippers with all the tools

Received item, good quality in cutting. But when I received all of the combs were bent so can’t really use them. I’m having to use my old ones. Could of been a bit more stronger so they didn’t bend so easily and stay bent ( annoyingly

Trust me, I did my research on every sort and cranny of Wahl clippers. I contemplated buying 2nd hand of the 'Magic Clip' and 'Senior' clippers that all the professional barbers used (they are expensive), because there were no reliable reviews of this unvouched Fade Pro model! Decided to take the plunge and buy this cheaper option, and return it if it wasn't to my standard. Two months later, and it's still hanging in my room. I use it every 10 days or so, and couldn't be happier! I don't see any reason to spend any more on clippers when these cut my hair brilliantly. Power is great, and in fact the lower angle of the blade means that it's a lot more forgiving if you blend your hair (especially at the back)! Accessories are great, wide range of guards. I haven't seen the use of the combs but probably good for longer hairstyles and if you cut other people's hair. What I would recommend is keeping all your less frequently used guards in a resealable bag, so that you can locate your common used guards easily without having to squint at the grade label! I only keep the 2,1 and 0.5 on most of the time, and I would recommend buying a 1.5 grade on Amazon too for about £3.
