I purchased two of these enclosures on sale for just under $34 total, but unfortunately, they didn’t work as expected. Installation was simple, and I had no trouble formatting both 1TB NVMe drives on my MacBook. However, as soon as I started copying data, issues arose with both enclosures. The drives would randomly disconnect, forcing me to restart the transfer—only for the problem to repeat endlessly.While small data transfers (under 1GB) were successful, anything larger caused consistent failures. I experimented with different file system formats (APFS and exFAT), but the issue persisted with datasets over 1GB. I suspect the problem lies in heat buildup—the small included "heat sink" is insufficient, and the fully enclosed design prevents proper heat dissipation.I had high hopes for an affordable NVMe enclosure solution, but if you're considering purchasing one of these, think twice. It may work for small data transfers, but not for larger sets. In the end, I bought an NVMe drive duplicator (StarTech), and both drives worked flawlessly, confirming that the issue was with the enclosures—not the drives.

I recently upgraded the memory on my Steam Deck from a 256gb to a 1tb. Rather than toss out my old ssd, I used this as a shell and use it as a portalable external drive. Put files and roms on it and transfer it to my phone with the cable provided. Or use it as an emergency flash drive for whenever the time call for it.

Bought this just to utilize the Drive in a PC that I was salvaging parts from. It turns out that it is now the fastest USB storage that I own! An unexpected value! The worst part was manipulating the 2 tiny screws that secured my drive in this enclosure. Still, it is now my go to drive for moving files from my different devices.
