Lovely snapshot of a moment in time made all the more poignant now that we have lost the incomparable Dame Maggie Smith. These ladies are part of a generation of theatre and film that crosses into the Golden era of the 20th Century, and it's a wonderful record of their experiences, struggles and ability to overcome the sexism and misogyny of the industry. Well worth a watch if you have enjoyed the work of any of these marvelous actors

Amazing, it had to literally laughing out loud, hit a lot harder considering Dame Maggie Smith has just crossed over so I cryed 99% of the time. Their humour and banter is not to none, TRUE FRIENDSHIP. not many can say that these days, famous or not!!!!

Wish there had been subtitles as missed a a lot of the banter then it would have been 5 stars

These Dames have worked hard to entertain us for over 200 years. Long may they reign!

The ladies are utterly charming, clever & very funny. However I suspect there was much more “on the cutting room floor” than is in this film.Shame because all four are true icons and deserve better than this. Perhaps a “Directors Cut” would help? What are the makers afraid of? I’d be surprised if any of them said anything too controversial. And even if they did who would care? All four have surely done enough of life not to worry too much anyway?This could have been truly great and it isn’t.Which, when you consider the four actors the cameras are pointing at, it is a remarkable feat of incompetence.

Joy to watch. Best of the best .

I received the wrong “region”. I have region 2 and I need region 1

This was a gift for a lady that likes all four British Actresses that are features in video. I have not given it to her yet'so I have no feed back to give. I think it is a unique dvd for anyone who loves British Films, as these actresses arein so many and are excellent

Sehr unterhaltsam, geistreich, witzig. Ein wunderbarer Rückblick auf die britische Theatergeschichte einschließlich Rückblenden auf Laurence Oliviers Schaffen (klar, wenn Dame Joan bzw. Lady Olivier zur Runde zählt) und ein begeisternder Einblick in den britischen Humor.Im englischen Original eine einzige Freude (die engl. Untertitel erleichtern ggf. das Verständnis). Auch wer nicht so gut Englisch kann: Es lohnt sich, unbekannte Wörter anhand der engl. Untertitel nachzuschlagen, um dann der Konversation dieser Grandes Dames des britischen Theaters mit ihrer wunderbaren Aussprache zu lauschen.

It is just like listening to Alan Bennett, their voices, their way of speaking, their intelligent speech, just brilliant!

Quattro Dame davvero che gettano uno sguardo ironico, malizioso, malinconico sugli ultimi cinquanta anni di lavoro nel teatro inglese. Donne forti e splendide che sorridono.
