Not Enough
I am a huge Phil Hale fan. I wanted to get his "Many Moods" mono-print book, but it cost something like $300. This seemed like the next best option, and while it has some of the Phil Halisms we love and adore, it's a very short pocket book containing what looks like mostly throw-away pieces from Hale's catalog. So, it's still good in that it has some Hale paintings, but only the bearest minimum and for that i bequeath it only 3 stars

Not Worth It.
This book is not worth the money. I was very disappointed when I seen how few reproductions of paintings there were and also how small if any. Your best bet is to buy GOAD if you really want to get a sense of Phil Hale's work. This book just doesn't add up to much, the book is too small and the quality is mediocre, don't waste your time.

haters gonna hate
I gave the product 4 stars, I read other reviews and I have to disagree with most of them. I think most people are upset over the size and dementions of the book because it is smaller. But in fact, you are getting what you pay for. I was courious as to why the book was so cheap but when I saw its size I knew why. Be advised before you buy the book, it is not like Ashley Woods other book designs where the demensions are super huge. The art inside is fantastic and it showcases Philes other work including photos, sketches and thumb nails. If you are studying art work or Phile hales work spacifically its a great book to browse through. However it did fall short one star, I wanted to see more paintings in the book.I wasnt bothered by the size, and overall it is a good book to add to any library.

A perfect, pocket-sized dose of the genius of Phil Hale
Yes, this is a small-but-perfectly-formed book, and no, it's not quite as lavish or deluxe as the aforementioned GOAD, but if you're a fan of Phil Hale's murky, creepy and retina-scarring work, this is a unique little volume to add to your library. I don't really get the complaints about the trim-size and format of the book - the dimensions are right there in the description, so the size of this book shouldn't come as a shock to anyone that orders it, really. These books aren't meant to be career-spanning overviews; rather, they're precious, portable little collections of one artist's work per volume. The Sparrow series has had a great set of artists in it so far (Ashley Wood, Kent Williams, Shane Glines), and the two Hale editions they've published in this format are definitely winners.
