This board is a gorgeous piece of craftsmanship. I enjoy woodworking myself, and this is well made. Drawer slides easily and metal pieces are heavy with felt pads; you can tell this has been crafted by hand (any wood worker will tell you). The smell of fresh wood stain and urethane will fade quickly (for those unfamiliar with it and/or handmade wood products.. I personally love it, and it displays the quality of the work and protective coats). Smooth wood finish and nice use of the different grains. Please sell other handmade products like jewelry boxes, puzzle boxes with hidden drawers, etc. Making this a family heirloom to pass down. I personally prefer the drawer to the latch version as the latch version will need extra care/maintenance over years for alignment. If it scratches over time from use, this can be refinished to look good as new, which is the benefit of using solid wood pieces. This is the purple board - very glad it is not too purple, as it reminds me of nacre. Craftsmanship like this is easily worth the price, especially when you factor in the ability to refinish it overtime.

This is exactly what my husband wanted. We are VERY HAPPY with this item. Very well made, sturdy. It’s beautiful! The size of the pieces are perfect, I was worried they wouldn’t be big enough for my husband, they are. We keep it out with the pieces displayed & have had many compliments. I have nothing bad to say. I’d ABSOLUTELY recommend this!

Such a beautiful creation. It is every bit as stunning in real life. It's a work of art all by itself. Large, 15 inch, just as advertised. Each piece fits snugly into its foam cut out, so you could transport the whole thing easily without the pieces clicking together. You'd want to grip around the drawer side though; if you tipped it from the wrong side, the entire drawer could slip and fall clear out. The drawer glides smoothly, and I love the metal handles. I thought it would be two separate drawers, but in fact it is one long one that can slide completely out on either side. It arrived quickly, and packaged very well. Pieces are heavy, and pretty large, metal, with felt underneath so they glide across the board silently. 100% satisfied with this purchase. It feels like a family heirloom from an ancient mansion.

Really nice set, the blue color is beautiful and the pieces are well made. The box it came in was packaged very good and the drawer underneath that holds the pieces is a plus!

What a gorgeous chess set. Might be the best I’ve ever seen. The pieces are heavy which I like. The only negative is that this is imported from Turkey so you have to pay import fees even though it’s free shipping.
